Contract Role Overview We are seeking a Test Engineer for a role focused on the validation of hardware and software stacks for a satellite's vehicle power system. This position supports the design, build, and test of complex vehicle power systems. The role is hands-on, involving flight vehicle design and verification, test infrastructure design reviews, and the execution of validation campaigns for power components and systems. Key Responsibilities Architect, design, and automate new vehicle test cases to validate and verify satellite performance against requirements. Collaborate with operators and engineers to troubleshoot anomalies found in production hardware and software tests. Develop standard operating procedures to scale routine satellite operations and reduce non-conformances. Work with cross-functional stakeholders to capture power systems test venue needs and requirements. Provide test input to vehicle power system design trade studies and support next-generation power systems development. Design, prototype, and deploy test systems hardware and software to verify and validate power systems performance. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field 2+ years of experience in a hardware or software test role Experience working on power systems in automotive, autonomy, consumer electronics, energy storage, or other related fields Working knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals (DC circuits, power electronics, sensing, protection) and test equipment (power supplies, electronic loads, DAQs, oscilloscopes, DMMs) Demonstrated ability to manage small to medium technical projects, including planning, prioritization, cross-functional coordination, and on-time execution in a hardware or test engineering environment. Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of modern software engineering (automation, algorithms, unit testing, etc.). Experience working on power systems for aerospace programs (drones, launch vehicles, satellites, etc.). Experience with technical document creation (SOPs, work instructions, run-books, etc.). Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing of power systems hardware and software. Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to build mechanisms that reduce routine work and bring processes to scale.
