Yes Position Summary A Ground Vehicle Configuration Management (CM) Lead is responsible for ensuring that all ground vehicle systems, components, and data are properly identified, controlled, and maintained throughout their lifecycle. This role bridges engineering, logistics, and program management to ensure compliance with configuration management plans and standards. The CM Lead ensures end-to-end configuration management for ground vehicle programs, maintaining accurate records of all configuration items (CIs), managing changes, and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and audit requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop, coordinate, and maintain CM plans, processes, and procedures for ground vehicle programs, ensuring artifacts are identifiable and maintainable. Oversee Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Engineering Release Records (ERRs), and Requests for Variances (RFVs); manage change workflows and ensure released package integrity. Identify, document, and track all CIs (hardware, software, documentation, drawings, CAD files) in the CM database or PDM system. Conduct and support physical and functional configuration audits; review compliance with CM policies and procedures. Maintain accurate status accounting records for CM activities and configuration items. Drive continuous improvement in CM processes, including change control, release management, and audit practices. Work with program management, engineering, and logistics teams to ensure CM requirements are met and value is delivered. Serve as chair for the Configuration Control Board (CCB), enacting changes as directed. Ensure integrity of CM databases and CM artifacts, including CAD, drawings, and other technical documentation.
Document & Report:
Maintain comprehensive design records, participate in design reviews, and report progress to stakeholders. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology 10+ years of Configuration Management experience Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) tools to include Jira Experience with government standards and processes, such as described in EIA-649, Configuration Management Standard Experience with generating Configuration Management productivity metrics and/or reports Experience with estimating, proposing, and/or managing configuration management cost and schedule on a program Professional experience within the U.S. defense sector, including familiarity with DoD acquisition processes, standards, and regulations. Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly in written and verbal formats. Ability to travel as required by program needs. Preferred Qualifications Active DoD security clearance or the ability to obtain one. Experience with military system level configuration management. Prior experience supporting large, complex defense acquisition programs or major system integrations. We are an equal opportunity employer.
