Job Description:
The Application Analyst is responsible for application/project support as well as applying new or existing technologies and solutions to solve business needs. Works with IT and business teams to determine requirements, system needs, support existing production systems and the execution of projects. May serve as a functional and/or technical expert in one or more disciplines.
Responsibilities:
Support and execute end-to-end New Store Opening, Remodels and Store closing (GOB). Coordinate the efforts of internal and external staff in the support of existing production systems and in the execution of projects. Coordinate with multiple vendors, IT teams, business partners to ensure the timely and accurate deployment. Work with various IT teams on technical design and solutions. Collaborate with other teams, within IT and the business, to ensure timely and successful delivery and/or issue resolution. Prepare estimates, budget, and forecast as needed for assigned projects. Develop project plans covering the entire systems development life cycle. Manage meetings, issue resolution & escalation for the team during the complete lifecycle of all assigned projects. Support the creation and review of test-related & deployment-related deliverables including approach, plan, test scenarios/results and execution. Ensure that all required system and user documentation is created accurately, installations are completed on time and under budget and anticipated business benefits are achieved. Manage the order processing, shipment tracking, and receipt of equipment as needed for assigned projects. Identify new methods of improving existing processes and/or promote system stability. Support existing production systems, coordinate related support and enhancement activities. Define and prioritize problems and requests. Ensure proper testing and business change management practices and procedures are followed. Ensure all support activities are executed on time and on budget.
Required skills/experience:
At least 3-5 years' experience supporting systems or projects. Experience working for a national retailer with multiple stores or consulting firm (preferred). Experience implementing and/or supporting hardware and packaged solutions Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience in retail or IT-related field. Technical orientation balanced by project management discipline. Experience in project coordination. Experience in risk identification and management. A solid understanding of industry best practices. Strong analytical & critical thinking skills. Ability to effectively communicate at various levels of the organization. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; outstanding listening skills and ability to effectively follow instructions. Able to articulate issues, build consensus around recommendations, and define next steps.
