Hybrid Eligible Position Summary The University IT (UIT) AVT Solutions team, part of Stanford's Business Affairs organization, delivers advanced technological solutions to support research, teaching, administration, and healthcare. As Stanford expands its AudioVideo (AV) services, we seek an AV Program Manager to oversee and prioritize the deployment of multiple AV systems and equipment projects in a dynamic environment. The program manager will also drive ongoing process improvements and AV service enhancements. While the primary focus is on medium- to large-scale AV projects, assignments may include other IT infrastructure initiatives, such as network, cellular, telephony, VoIP, and call center projects. This position reports to the Director of UIT AVT Solutions. The program manager will apply program management best practices to achieve consistent, high-quality results and continuous improvement. The role requires balancing stakeholder interests, demonstrating professionalism, and exercising independent judgment in decision-making. The ideal candidate has a proven record of delivering enterprise-wide audio-visual systems of varying complexity. They motivate diverse teams, collaborate with sponsors and decision-makers, and effectively manage project risks. The role is 80% project leadership and 20% technical contribution, with responsibility for managing multiple projects simultaneously. Core Responsibilities Project Management and Systems Analysis Coordination Perform the full range of project management lifecycle activities, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing. Independently lead and direct complex projects requiring high levels of functional and technical integration, involving multiple disciplines, business partners, and cross-functional stakeholders. Partner with business and technical leadership to define appropriate technical solutions, translate business needs into project requirements, and support alignment between operational objectives and system capabilities. Originate project charters defining and shaping project scope, goalsobjectives, solution approach, system integration impacts, project organization, roles and responsibilities, risks and assumptions, and project financials. Develop action plans and estimate resource requirements, including management, labor, materials, and time required to complete projects; support project scope, schedule, and resource planning throughout the project lifecycle. Create and implement project plans and work breakdown structures aligned with business and technical priorities; revise plans as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Coordinate and monitor work efforts related to business requirements analysis, system enhancements, upgrades, testing activities, and implementation support to promote timely, cost-effective, and quality outcomes. Facilitate discussions, negotiations, and stakeholder engagement to drive recommendations, consensus, and enterprise-wide integration requirements. Develop and help execute comprehensive change management strategies and communication plans relative to project scope and stakeholders; lead change management methodologies supporting project adoption and success. Evaluate and assess metrics and project effectiveness; proactively monitor and control risks, progress, trends, and application or operational impacts affecting successful project delivery. Provide project status reporting, performance updates, and recommendations to business and information technology leadership. Support coordination of production support activities, issue resolution efforts, and testing efforts associated with system implementations and enhancements. Contribute to PPMPMO process improvement initiatives as defined in the PMO roadmap, including continuous improvement efforts related to project delivery standards, quality, and efficiency. May provide coordination, guidance, or work direction to analysts, project leads, or other contributors in support of project execution and team effectiveness. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Education and Experience Bachelor's degree and ten years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. Previous experience managing AV implementation and IT infrastructure projects. Field installation or engineering experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Highly effective written and oral communication skills to address a wide variety of audiences. Ability to productively assemble, engage, and lead cross-functional teams. Demonstrated project management ability to employ integration, scope, time management, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement components. Ability to balance customer expectations with project reality. Demonstrated resilience, diplomacy, influence, relationship building, and problem-solving skills in a variety of situations. Keen grasp of interpersonal and impact awareness. Depth of knowledge in technical disciplinedomain needed to deliver projects. Proven experience managing multiple large AV deployments in a complex and fluid environment. Understanding of basic AV and telecomVoIP mechanics (e.g., VoIP, PBX, Call Manager, Contact Center, paging, TDM) and basic knowledge of service delivery and operation strongly desired. Experience with managing IT technical infrastructure components for new andor updated buildings. Proven experience with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies strongly desired. Knowledge of project management tools and software development lifecycle (SDLC). Proven experience in developing and maintaining complex and integrated project plans. Proven experience in people, change, risk, and conflict management is strongly desired. Proven ability to build relationships and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve results in a consensus-driven environment is strongly desired. Ability to lead and direct a team of internal and external technical and business staff, and align technical needs with business goals, is strongly desired. Solid leadership, negotiation, persuasion, and facilitation skills are strongly desired. Ability to navigate stressful situations and makenegotiate decisions on complex problems is strongly desired. Solid experience with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio) strongly desired. Knowledge and understanding of university operations, administration, and community desired. Certifications and LicensesCTS, CTS-I
Certifications preferred. Physical Requirements• Frequently sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, and grasp lightlyfine manipulation and liftcarry pushpull objects that weigh up to 20 pounds. Occasionally standwalk, write by hand. The expected pay range for this position is $152,010 to $160,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
