Minimum Educational Req:
High School or GED equivalent plus 5 years' experience.
Years of Experience:
3-5 years of recent IT Support Role or a similar or related position and demonstrated IT skills.
Position Summary:
The IT Support Specialist's role is to assist the IT Manager in the streamlined operation of the IT Department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. The IT Support Specialist will primarily handle incoming issues from end users for all company employees, provide initial troubleshooting and analysis, and escalate tickets as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist IT Manager in the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals Maintain ticketing system and address user issues for in office and remote employees Maintain systems inventory and asset allocation database Keep current with the latest technologies
Skill Requirements:
Be business professional and can interact with all levels within the organization including managers, president and CEO Ability to collaborate effectively with different departments and team members Data entry skills Proficiency in Word, Excel, and intuitive web-based applications Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize with high attention to detail Entrepreneurial, self-motivating and self-directing Knowledge of office protocol, procedures, resourcefulness and the ability to problem - solve Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products as required Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment Exceptional customer service orientation
Technical Requirements:
Technical knowledge of PC operating systems and Mac's Technical knowledge of desktop and portable hardware, protocols, and standards End-user systems and application support experience desired Familiarity with network services (ie, phone systems, copiers, printers, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of this job including: On- call availability, sitting for extended periods of time, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components, occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings and Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals. Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not supervise the work of others.
Internal and External Interaction:
This position interacts with peers both in and out of department and their immediate manager on a regular basis. They may interact with customers and vendors directly in escalation or support situations in a large geographical area. They may interact with Managers in other departments.
