Work includes monitoring and supporting multiple camera systems and hardware implementations, evaluating, assessing and correcting PC/laptop issues, assisting with the planning, testing and implementation of new technology requirements including upgrades, networking and software fixes; assisting with the optimization of wireless network performance; and assisting with the coordination of routine hardware maintenance and software upgrades efforts with other city technicians and vendors. Leads in the response to incidents regarding the installation, support, and maintenance of the St Petersburg Police Department overall surveillance posture. Work hours will vary and will include nights and weekends.

Have a valid Bachelor's degree with major course work in public administration, business administration, computer science, or a related field. Have strong research, writing and computer skills. Be able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines. Have knowledge of traffic flows across the network (e.g., Transmission Control Protocol [TCP] and Internet Protocol [IP]) Have knowledge of network design processes, including understanding security & operational objectives. Have knowledge of firewall rulesets and configurations. Have knowledge of Windows operating systems. Have knowledge of installation, integration, and optimization of surveillance (camera/video) components. Be able to communicate effectively, clearly, and concisely, orally and in writing. Possess excellent interpersonal skills that enable effective interaction with all stakeholder levels, including City employees, businesses, other agencies, and the public. Be able to quickly learn and effectively administer policies and regulations. Be able to read and comprehend regulatory and technical compliance documents related to the position and assigned duties. Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, you must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster. Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:
Have some experience with real-time Crime center applications (AXON/Fusus). Have two (2) years of experience in network management and support, the internet, computers, network hardware and software, fiber optic systems, and communications devices such as modems, routers, and data switches. Minimum Qualification:
