Responsibilities:
Responsible for the accurate and timely charge capture (review of charges entered by another party) for all procedures associated with facility activity in all surgery locations. Using knowledge of different surgical procedures, able to ensure all supply, time and device charging is correct prior to charge processing and patient/insurance billing. Skills required include medical terminology, strong customer service and problem solving.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED
Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Medical Billing/Coding, or other health related degree and one year of related experience OR High School diploma or equivalent and three (3) years previous medical related medical/coding experience. Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Terminology Demonstrated organizational and communication/customer service skills Demonstrated knowledge and skill in utilization of computer application Demonstrated problem-solving skills
PREFERRED
Previous experience in hospital/medical office environment. Surgery preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of a computerized electronic health record (EHR) system. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with individuals in all levels of responsibility. Ability to work independently.
