EPIC Systems Analyst I | Full Time (On-Site) 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars 700 South Main Street, Moscow, ID 83843 Full-time Gritman Medical Center Inc. 69 reviews Full-time Job Summary The Technical Systems Analyst is responsible for assisting stakeholders and customers with information system issues (40%), system analysis, implementation, and project management (50%), and coordinating technical resources while supporting management and staff in policy development, training, and regulatory compliance (10%). This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and security of computers, databases, and networks, while also assisting the Information Systems team with assigned projects and tasks. The analyst will also serve as a backup for Information Systems staff as needed.
Job Duties and Responsibilities Technical:
Maintain established policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement projects and safety standards. Treat customers, peers, and other stakeholders with kindness and respect under all circumstances. Assist with implementation, maintenance, and support of clinical information systems. Provide hardware, software and functional requirements when requested. Analyze processes, information use, and system resource usage and recommend improvements. Assist users with sign-on, access, software, and hardware problems. Assist in the care and maintenance of medical center facilities, equipment, and supplies. Assist and manage implementation of various software and hardware. Perform installation and maintenance of PCs, printers, and other computer hardware and software. Install, set-up, and maintain network peripherals including, but not limited to: terminal servers, modems, switches, routers, bridges, and network management devices. Create cables and install basic voice and data writing. Create databases and design tools to effectively use databases. Maintain, install, and troubleshoot telecommunications systems. Maintain, track, and update lists of issues that have been, or remain to be resolved. Be a resource for and liaison between the department and our three customers, patients, providers, and peers Provide input on the design and implementation of information systems education to our three customers. Optimize workflows, create custom solutions to improve operational efficiencies including technical support and automation of processes.
EMR:

Be a resource for and liaison between the department and our three customers, patients, providers, and peers Provide input on the design and implementation of information systems education to our three customers. Collaborate with leadership to identify trends, optimize workflows, create custom solutions to improve operational efficiencies including technical support and automation of processes. Provide direct support to clinical, operational, and patient care teams to ensure smooth adoption and optimal use of the Epic system. Work with OCHIN and member advisory groups to implement new Epic PM and EMR features and upgrades. Participate in system build, configuration, testing, and implementation of new features, Epic Release Packs, and optimization projects. Fulfill requests for additional charting tools from the review process through follow-up communication to users. Attend relevant clinic department meetings as the Epic subject matter expert and liaison to OCHIN.
Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Technical:
Advanced personal computer skills; to include knowledge of PC operating systems, thin clients, and familiarity with application programs in use at Gritman. A knowledge of database theory and structure is helpful. Programming skills are helpful. Aptitude, interest, and experience with healthcare information systems Ability to work independently Possess ability to communicate effectively using written and verbal communication skills Ability to analyze complex issues objectively and accurately Experience with interdisciplinary teams Ability to review, evaluate and implement requests from user departments A working knowledge of local area networks, wide area networks, and serial communications; to include knowledge of protocols and standards in use at Gritman.
System administration skills:
to include familiarity with Linux/Unix, Windows Server, Citrix, Cisco IOS, print spooling, back-ups, and familiarity with current hardware in use at Gritman. Be self-motivated and customer-orientated with good organizational, troubleshooting, and skills. Able to resolve questions and issues that arise related to information systems Able to assist and work with staff regarding information system issues, support, and problem solving. Able to develop customized and solution-oriented workflows, automation of tasks, and technical support to uses. Available off-hours to on-call IS team for clinical application systems problem solving and issue resolution
Clinical:

Identify and resolve application and equipment issues; escalate to the member's IT/Help Desk or OCHIN as needed and communicate resolutions to end users. Maintain member-managed system configurations such as preference lists, Smart Phrases, and Provider order sets. Knowledge and ability to manage error queues and In Basket pools for the member organization. Work collaboratively with clinicians and follow established EMR processes to manage requests for: Additions of diagnoses and procedures codes. Medications, reports to the system Available off-hours to on-call IS team for clinical application systems problem solving and issue resolution, as well as after-hours support through troubleshooting, coaching, and consulting with Epic users. Functional Demands Populations Served This role supports adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients of diverse backgrounds, including individuals with various impairments and medical conditions. Physical Demands Occasional lifting of manuals and hardware (up to 50 lbs ). Use of step stools and climbing stairs as needed. Frequent handling of books, manuals, and computer peripherals. Continuous use of computers and telephones for communication and support.
Environmental Conditions Location:
Inside. Frequent exposure to noise from computer printers and telephones. Minimal exposure to electromagnetic fields. Minimal risk of injury due to proximity to moving parts on computer printer and typewriter. Minimal exposure to biohazardous materials. May be exposed to/occasionally exposed to patient elements, i.e., accidents, injuries, and illnesses. Occasionally subjected to irregular hours/shifts. Frequently required to function competently with multiple demands and tasks. May have exposure to loud noises.
