Job Description

Overview The Cost Database Support Associate provides dedicated support for the creation, maintenance, and ongoing updating of historical cost databases across a variety of project types. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of cost data used for project benchmarking, estimating, and portfolio-level reporting. Working closely with project teams, consultants, and internal stakeholders, the Associate supports routine and ad hoc data updates and helps maintain standardized, high-quality cost information. This position is temporary. Responsibilities Update, maintain, and organize historical cost databases covering multiple project types Perform accurate data entry, validation, and quality control to ensure data consistency and integrity Review project cost information to identify data gaps, discrepancies, or inconsistencies Coordinate with project managers, consultants, and other stakeholders to resolve data issues and obtain missing information Support regular and ad hoc database updates required for project revisions, reporting, and analysis Assist in maintaining standardized data formats, documentation, and procedures to improve database usability and accessibility In addition to cost database support, this position will be required to work as a contractor escort when needed and will be required to: Maintain a daily contractor activity log (hard copy or electronic: Submit completed daily logs to the Office of Capital Projects administrator as directed by management Perform required knock-and-entry protocols prior to contractor access, including: Audible announcements Verification of vacancy Conduct pre- and post-service space inspections to verify: No personal or University belongings were removed Any relocated items were returned to their original location Work areas are clean, orderly, and free of debris Complete and leave a University Service Hang Tag detailing service performed and relevant contact information Punchlist support for Capital projects: Site walkthroughs to ensure completion and test installations Track areas surveyed and tested on spreadsheet in shared database Qualifications Required Skills and Competencies Demonstrated experience updating and maintaining project data in historical cost or similar databases Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with multiple stakeholders Problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve data quality issues Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple updates and priorities
Required Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older Ability to successfully pass a background check Posess a valid driver's license to drive a golf cart Completion of Department of Public Safety Contractor Escort Training Availability to work Monday-Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (with occasional weekends and holidays as needed) Availability from Wednesday, May 27 through the end of August (end date flexible based on academic schedules)
