Job Summary:
The Intern, IT provides entry-level technical assistance to support the organization's information technology operations. This role assists with desktop and laptop support, basic troubleshooting, hardware and software setup, and general IT tasks under direct supervision and is designed to provide hands-on experience in a professional IT environment while supporting end users and learning industry best practices.
Minimum Education:
High school diploma or GED. Licensure, Registration and/or
Certification:
None.
Work Experience:
6 months related experience, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and other applicable software. Knowledge of information system techniques and practices. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal that present clear and concise information. Ability to routinely work with and appropriately manage confidential information.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Under direct supervision, assists with installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktop computers, laptops, peripheral equipment, and approved software. Performs basic troubleshooting and resolves common technical issues or escalates more complex issues to senior IT staff. Assists with computer imaging, deployment, moves, adds, and changes. Documents user issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the IT ticketing system. Communicates effectively with end users regarding issue status and resolution. Assists with IT projects such as system upgrades, hardware refreshes, and inventory tracking. Follows all IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
Decision Making:
Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.
Working Relationships:
Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
