Oriskany, NY Job Type Full-time Description Utica First Insurance Company has been serving the insurance needs of families and businesses for over 100 years. We have a dedicated "team" of employees and offer continuing opportunity for personal career growth. Utica First Insurance Company is currently seeking an Applications Analyst for our Oriskany, NY location. An Analyst will perform project coordination and planning, system analysis, documenting of business requirements, and programming to facilitate the creation and maintenance of projects, software programs and systems procedures that meet the needs of Management and company departments of Utica First Insurance Company.

IT Applications Supervisor Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm (OT as necessary) Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: Experience with reporting applications (Pentaho, Business Objects, Sisense, Power BI) Experience with database technologies (SQL, Oracle, Relational Database, Analytics) Design, architect & develop integrations with other systems or repositories Knowledgeable in preparing and executing User Acceptance Test Knowledgeable of Web Applications (browser-based clients & server-side code) using Solid Design Principals Experience with Windows Server environments Knowledge of PowerShell and Unix Shell Scripting Knowledge of Web Technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.) Knowledge of
SSAS, SSIS, SSRS
Excellent organizational, verbal, and writing skills and the ability to perform well under pressure Support project coordination, business analysis, programming and implementation of certain large-scale projects assigned by their superior. Work with business personnel, IT personnel and vendors to analyze and define specifications for new projects, interfaces, software maintenance/changes, and software implementation. This includes file/table definitions, system flow/integration definitions, program specifications, testing, estimate of programming time and resources required. Work on the development of integrations with outside parties or systems. Ensure vendor supplied software changes and corrections are implemented accurately and in a timely fashion. May be involved with user acceptance testing. Provide documentation for all new configuration, programming and procedural instructions for work that has been completed. Ability to work in a team environment with minimal direction. Inform their superior of configuration deployment changes to test and production environments. Maintain current log of outstanding projects, work in progress, and project status. Must be disciplined, highly detailed oriented and reliable with good organizational and problem solving skills. Responsible for attending any education classes or seminars to help further advance your knowledge of systems, software, and/or the insurance business. This may be at a vendor's recommendation or directed by the department Manager. Complete work request ticket and move to production sheets on new and/or modified programs and procedures within applicable tracking system.
Requirements Experience requirements:
Advanced knowledge of programming and analysis skills. Knowledge and proficiency in developing specifications and writing structured programs. Knowledge of Oracle, MS SQL, relational database, XML, Java, HTML, Web-based technologies. Requires strong customer service skills and a positive attitude. Team first mentality
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree, Computer Science or related required. Strong understanding of insurance operations, policy lifecycle, and regulatory environment. Hybrid Work Model
  • This position will be on site with the ability to work remotely part time.

Pay Range:
