Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) serves as the Technology Center for the State of NC. Services that NCDIT provides reach a client base of state and local government agencies, as well as schools, colleges and universities. NCDIT's mission is to enable trusted business-driven solutions that meet the needs of North Carolinians. NCDIT provides technology services to state agencies and is charged with closing the digital divide by expanding availability of broadband services and promoting the adoption of affordable, high-speed internet.
Description of Work Salary Range :
$81-504 - $122,256 The position is designated Statutory Exempt (EHRA) and is exempt from the State Human Resources Act. Are you ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking an Applications Systems Analyst II to join our team! This position may be eligible for hybrid remote work in accordance with state policy and the agency's remote work program but does require weekly onsite work. This Applications Systems Analyst II will help design, develop, and support complex enterprise business solutions for the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission (ABC Commission). The ABC Commission's suite of custom applications primarily consists of Microsoft technologies such asASP.NET MVC, SQL
Server and SharePoint. A strong focus of this position will also be to help modernize current architecture and platforms. What you'll do:- Design complex .NET applications and analyze and modify existing programs.
- Work closely with business analysts and SME's to elicit and gather requirements, write specifications and test plans.
- Produce deliverables for all phases of the standard development life cycle from functional requirements through final implementation and production support.
Division:
The Alcoholic Beverage Control Act approved by the General Assembly of 1937 provided for the establishment of a State Board of Control consisting of a chairman and two associate members appointed by the Governor. The State Board of Control is today known as the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission (ABC Commission) and has all the powers and authority contained in the General Statutes 18B-203. The overall objective of the Commission is to provide uniform control over the sale, purchase, transportation, manufacture, advertising, consumption, and possession of alcoholic beverages in the State. In addition to administrating and regulating the laws established by the General Assembly, the Commission has the authority to adopt, amend, and repeal rules to carry out its objective. The ABC Commission is a self-supported agency with a special operating fund that was created in 1982 for the purpose of carrying out its mission. The Commission supports the State's General Fund with deposits from collected fees and excise taxes. Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in business application consulting or development; OR Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in application consulting or development; OR High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and six years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
