Sacramento Job Summary The Senior Project Analyst leads and delivers business process analysis and partners with project teams, business stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver value and achieve business strategies and objectives. This role supports moderate to highly complex projects, focusing on business requirements elicitation, solution validation, and ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, commitments, and goals. The Senior Project Analyst collaborates across functions to improve business processes, governance, and user adoption while maintaining strong communication and stakeholder relationships. Responsibilities Collaborate with project teams to define business problems, clarify business implications, and identify measurable business value. Translate business needs into detailed business requirements and lead current-state workflow analysis and future-state design. Uncover and articulate business, technology, and end-user needs and translate them into capabilities and solution requirements. Support resolution of ambiguity, conflicts, issues, and risks to remove project barriers while maintaining progress. Ensure project artifacts and deliverables meet quality standards and comply with applicable laws and regulations. Work with project and program teams to develop and communicate solution vision and prioritize competing business needs. Assess technological constraints, clarify business rationale, and recommend alternative solutions where appropriate. Contribute to solution options and support decision making to minimize divergence from target business outcomes. Develop Requests for Proposal (RFPs), including business needs and product/service expectations, and analyze vendor responses and risk assessments. Identify opportunities to create reusable enterprise artifacts and communicate the value and tradeoffs of new technologies. Consult with business and technical partners to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and support iterative value delivery. Adjust stakeholder expectations in response to scope changes and navigate conflicts among multiple partners. Communicate change plans across multiple areas to support project and organizational change objectives. Work with project teams to identify end-user adoption challenges and mitigation strategies. Facilitate communities of practice and forums to support ongoing project delivery improvements. Leverage industry best practices and lessons learned to enhance organizational performance. Use strong communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders and manage project-related discussions and agreements. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field strongly preferred; advanced degree preferred. Minimum eight years of combined experience in project analysis, coordination, and management, including at least five years directly creating requirements and performing quality analysis. Experience supporting complex projects end-to-end, preferably within a financial services environment. Strong knowledge of business analysis practices, methodologies, and process improvement techniques. Knowledge of financial products and services and related delivery channels preferred. Ability to conduct research, perform analysis, and prepare recommendations for enterprise-wide initiatives. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong research, analytical, planning, and organizational skills with a customer-focused, proactive work style. Ability to evaluate key business objectives and develop appropriate action plans. Familiarity with common contractual language and contract negotiation. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, including extended hours when required. Capability to lift up to 20 lbs and perform typical office movements and tasks. Capability for prolonged sitting, telephone use, and computer-based work, with normal or corrected vision and hearing. Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings, seminars, and related business needs. Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent business analysis certification desired. Summary Qualification Extensive experience in business and technical analysis supporting complex, enterprise-level projects. Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and solution designs. Strong background in process improvement and governance within a regulated financial or similar environment. Proven stakeholder management skills across business, technology, vendors, and leadership levels. Advanced proficiency with analysis, documentation, and collaboration tools, including Microsoft Office and collaboration platforms. Ability to manage competing priorities, resolve ambiguity, and drive projects toward defined strategic objectives. Skill Business requirements elicitation, documentation, and validation. Business process analysis, workflow design, and process optimization. Stakeholder facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution. Solution assessment, option analysis, and recommendation development. Preparation and evaluation of RFPs and vendor assessments. Change management support, business readiness, and user adoption planning. Research, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Clear, concise written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences. Strong organizational, planning, and time management capabilities.
