JOB SUMMARY
Under minimal supervision, analyze, develop, edit, proofread, and maintain technical documentation for Texas Computer Cooperative (TCC) software applications, as well as related marketing content. Work effectively with subject matter experts in assessing the impact of program and product changes to the existing documentation, and in creating new user-oriented help documentation and training guides.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS/ABILITIES
Knowledge Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required. One to three years of experience in creating user-oriented documentation and/or training materials for information technology preferred. Strong interpersonal and technical skills required. Exceptional knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and appropriate writing style for technical documentation. Knowledge of best practices for design and organization for technical documentation. Fundamental understanding of the technical documentation processes. Skills/Abilities Demonstrated excellence in content organization and investigative skills. Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies independently and quickly, and readily adapt to changing requirements, projects, and outcomes. Proficiency in
HTML, CSS, HTML
authoring software, video creation tools, and image editing software is preferred. RoboHelp proficiency preferred. Investigative determination and persistence in solving complex problems. High level of attention to detail to ensure documentation is consistent and error free. Ability to read and interpret technical materials. Ability to maintain organization and focus for multiple projects, and deliver quality products on time, according to requirements, with minimal intervention. Ability to write and edit according to designated writing standards. Ability to change writing style according to audience, including the ability to generate related content for marketing purposes, which may require creative writing skills. Desire to work on a collaborative team and contribute equally in reaching goals. Ability to learn and efficiently use new tools as needed. Proficiency with standard functions within applications such as Microsoft 365/Google, (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software), e-mail, web browsers, and databases. Proficiency with computers (PCs and/or MACs) to include file and desktop management and operations, and working in a cloud-based and/or networked environment. Exceptions to these requirements will be considered based on exemplary skills, training, and record of success.
PRODUCTS/OUTCOMES
Analyze, develop, edit, proofread, and maintain technical content for software applications. Produce deliverables, including training guides, online Help topics, database cross references, videos, and any other assigned documentation. Comprehend and apply technical communication design and writing standards. Maintain and enhance technical content of existing user documentation. Continually seek to develop a deeper, more thorough understanding of supported products through research, training, and/or one-on-one interactions with programmers and subject matter experts; use the information gained to enhance documentation whenever possible. Serve on multiple agile project teams and use prescribed tools for communication, organization, and tracking of projects. Development and maintenance of project timelines and identify resources for completing assigned projects in a task-oriented manner.

BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY
Be aware of and follow Center guidelines of allowable costs when recommending use of public funds for expenditures for supplies, equipment, and facilities in area of assignment.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
Tools/Equipment Used:
Standard office equipment including personal computer, peripherals, copy machine, phone, etc.
Posture:
Prolonged sitting; occasional standing, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
Motion:
Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
Lifting:
Light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); occasional heavy lifting/carrying (15-50 pounds).
Environment:
This role primarily operates in an in-person, dynamic office setting, characterized by frequent verbal communication, movement, and collaboration among team members (small to large in-person gatherings/meetings); exposure to low or intense illumination; exposure to office equipment noise; may work prolonged or irregular hours; occasional travel; and, occasional remote work (after pre-determined length of employment).
Mental Demands:
Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Champion and model the Center's Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Service Standards. Function within the policies and procedures of ESC-20. Accept other responsibilities as assigned. Dress and groom appropriately for the ESC-20 work setting. Travel independently to fulfill responsibilities of the position. Maintain regular and reliable attendance, majority in-person/onsite. Serve at the will of the Executive Director.
