JOB SUMMARY
Works under minimal direction to provide technical skills and expertise required to develop, modify, and maintain police computer operating system software. Responsible for the support and maintenance of all police department specific technology systems including desktop computers, servers, databases and applications that impact critical department operations, functions and services. Troubleshoots desktop, server, application and network issues. Participates in the roll out of new software/firmware, features, fixes, and upgrades by coordinating with vendors and IR department, issuing announcements, developing training guides and manuals and conducting training as necessary.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required Education High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience 5 years of experience dealing with computer systems, servers, databases and applications, including at least 2 years in end-user/desktop support. Preferred Experience Knowledge in police department specific software systems preferred.
JOB DUTIES
Responsible for the support and maintenance of all police department specific technology systems including desktop computers, servers, databases and applications that impact critical department operations, functions and services. Troubleshoots desktop, server, application and network issues. Researches capabilities and performance of new software and hardware technologies and prepares evaluations based on department operational needs; Works with server hardware both for physical and virtual hosted environments. Assists in the planning, testing, administering, and implementing enterprise level projects such as system replacement, software migrations, and upgrades. Participates in the roll out of new software/firmware, features, fixes, and upgrades by coordinating with vendors and IR department, issuing announcements, developing training guides and manuals and conducting training as necessary. Collaborates with stakeholders to determine solutions for core and related system requirements and projects while applying proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Works with operating system security components, both with identifying potential vulnerabilities and remediating said vulnerabilities where applicable. Manages and maintains daily system processes as well as documenting processing requirements and system functions. Serves as a liaison between department and vendors. Performs other duties as assigned.
