Job Description

Job Summary The GMS Systems Analyst provides technical support, system administration, and maintenance activities for the Energy Management System (EMS) and its ancillary applications. This role ensures EMS uptime, mitigates system failures, and supports Client grid operations by analyzing user requirements, automating processes, and improving EMS functionality. The analyst collaborates with vendors, project teams, and internal stakeholders to deliver reliable system enhancements and operational solutions. Key Responsibilities Su pport, administer, and maintain EMS upgrade systems through various testing cycles. Integrate EMS applications, monitor performance, and perform regular maintenance. Conduct structured and unstructured testing, logging defects in tracking tools. Collaborate with business leads, project managers, and technical leads to provide updates and feedback. Work with EMS vendors and Client GMS development teams to reproduce defects and test fixes. Coordinate with GMS Applications Engineering teams to install defect fixes and releases across testing environments. Monitor EMS systems and applications routinely, performing database updates and upgrades. Assist Operations Engineers and Market Operations during EMS acceptance testing. Prepare and review technical documentation to support EMS administration. Perform code builds, patch implementations, and migrations in EMS systems. Respond to system failures and operator questions on a 24/7 basis. Conduct emergency recovery and troubleshooting of EMS systems and applications. Participate in EMS disaster recovery drills and certify changes to EMS production/test environments. Proactively identify design problems and drive resolution. Required Qualifications Bac helor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. 5+ years of experience in system administration on Linux/Windows operating systems. Experience with relational databases (Oracle/SQL DB). Experience with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and ICCP protocols. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and documentation abilit ies. Preferred Qualifications M aster's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. System administration experience with GE EMS Suite or other EMS vendors (Hitachi/ABB, Siemens, OSI, GE PowerOn Reliance). Experience supporting EMS disaster recovery and real-time data collection. Work Environment Rep orts to Supervisor of Grid & Market Solutions (GMS) Systems Support Team. Collaborative environment with business leads, project managers, technical leads, vendors, and Client GMS development teams. 24/7 support responsibilities for EMS system failures and operator inquiries.
