Job Description
Role and Responsibilities The Information Technology internship is an opportunity for the intern to gain real-world knowledge and practice application of technology support. This role reports to the IT Helpdesk Manager and expected to contribute to the overall vision and strategy of the Information Technology department during their internship. Key Tasks that the Information Technology Intern is responsible for include, but are not limited to Support the "Cavender's Culture" and drive the Mission, Vision, and Values. Analyzing data to recommend improvements to existing systems or processes. Setting up new computers, networks, and software for new employees. Providing support to IT staff by answering phones, processing paperwork, and responding to user requests. Installing operating systems and other computer software applications on new computers. Coordinating with other departments to ensure that all technology is working properly for the company. Collecting, analyzing, and storing data for use in reports. Supporting the maintenance of existing computer systems, including troubleshooting problems with hardware and software. Assisting with computer network security by scanning for vulnerabilities and viruses. Providing technical support for computer hardware and software issues. Assists in execution of special projects as assigned or needed. Ensure all materials are on time, error-free, and optimized to deliver on key performance indicators. Complete assigned internship project and perform presentation at conclusion of internship. Qualifications and Education Requirements Completed or are currently pursuing a degree in a technology-related field. Experience in a role supporting and interacting directly with customers preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. A great attitude and willingness to learn and ask questions. High integrity with the ability to represent Cavender's in a highly respectful and positive manner. Preferred Skills Possesses excellent problem solving, critical thinking, presentation, and communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Action oriented with ability to prioritize and drive results. Ability to work individually on a project or within a team environment.
