Position:
You will serve as an Engineering Data Management & Configuration Management Specialist supporting advanced Department of Defense (DoD) engineering programs. This role is responsible for maintaining engineering data integrity, configuration control, technical documentation management, and lifecycle support activities across complex hardware and software development environments. You will work closely with systems engineers, program managers, software and hardware teams, quality personnel, and government stakeholders to ensure accurate configuration accountability and compliance throughout the engineering lifecycle. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced working within secure, highly regulated defense environments.
Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain engineering data repositories, product baselines, and controlled technical documentation Support configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits Manage engineering changes, software releases, hardware documentation, and lifecycle baseline updates Maintain strict configuration integrity, traceability, and version control across technical data environments Collect, review, track, route, archive, and maintain Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables Support technical writing, editing, formatting standardization, and documentation quality improvement initiatives Utilize and support Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and engineering data systems including Windchill, Point, Jira, and related platforms Ensure proper access permissions, workflow management, and data integrity within engineering repositories Support Configuration Control Boards (CCB), Technical Review Boards (TRB), Failure Review Boards (FRB), and Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) Prepare technical review packages, meeting agendas, action item tracking, meeting minutes, and closeout documentation Coordinate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), engineering leadership, and program stakeholders to maintain accurate technical records and project status Support software and hardware anomaly tracking activities ensuring timely reporting and traceability Manage classified and unclassified technical data in accordance with government security procedures and marking requirements Support audits, self-inspections, corrective actions, and compliance initiatives Contribute to process improvement and continuous improvement efforts supporting engineering lifecycle management
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Technical Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered 3+ years of experience supporting engineering data management, configuration management, or technical documentation within a DoD or regulated environment Experience with Windchill PLM and/or other PLM/data management systems Experience supporting engineering review boards and change management processes Knowledge of configuration management principles and engineering lifecycle processes Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, highly regulated environments U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance
