Full Job Description Overview:
The IT Data Quality Analyst supports the development and execution of IT data quality processes across IT teams and functions. Under guidance from senior staff, this role assists in identifying IT data quality gaps, performs data profiling and analysis, and helps maintain processes that ensure organizational data is accurate, complete, and compliant. The analyst works collaboratively across IT and operational teams to investigate data issues and contribute to ongoing IT data quality improvement efforts.
Responsibilities:
Assists in defining and implementing an overall IT data quality strategy and approach to determine, investigate, and resolve data quality issues. Utilizes profiling, quality tools, and various IT data sources in order to determine causes of quality issues. Establishes an on-going process to maintain IT data quality and define IT data quality audit processes. Identifies and leverages opportunities to improve the IT data quality management processes, systems, and standards. Analyzes data errors, rejections, and anomalies across IT systems; assists in coordinating resolution with relevant teams and external partners as needed. Supports data governance activities including maintaining data dictionaries, metadata documentation, and business glossary entries. Trains and articulates to the other departmental professionals regarding the benefits and need for quality checking. Assists in validating data accuracy across ETL pipelines, staging environments, and data marts using SQL-based reconciliation scripts. Works closely with clients and internal business units to resolve any quality issues. Recommends modifications and changes, if any, to the appropriate departments. Participates in after-hours support rotation to ensure 24/7 availability of critical systems. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or related field preferred. Minimum two (2) years of experience in data quality analysis, data management, or a related IT role. Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications Willingness to acquire knowledge on new technologies to solve quality problems, excellent problem solving and analytical skills, ability to work independently, self-directed and solutions-oriented, sound organizational and planning skills with a solid attention to detail, effective communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Performance Based Competencies Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to assist others in defining their needs in a collaborative, tactful manner. Demonstrated aptitude for acquiring new technical skills in a data quality environment. Detail-oriented with strong organization skills. Ability to work on multiple projects and assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines. Work Environment And Physical Demands Standard cubicle within a shared common area. Ability to use a computer with standard software packages. More than 50% of work time is spent in front of a computer monitor. When required, ability to move, carry, and/or lift objects of varying size, weighing up to 25 pounds.
