Build and support the systems that keep City services running. The Department of Information Technology (DIT) is seeking an Information Technology Analyst ( Computer Programmer II) in Honolulu. This position supports City operations by assisting with programming tasks, maintaining systems, and helping resolve technical issues across applications and infrastructure. What You Will Do Write and modify computer programs to support business and operational needs Assist with debugging, testing, and improving system performance Support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network components Help document systems, user requirements, and technical procedures Assist with developing user instructions and system guidelines Participate in training to build programming and technical skills Support research and evaluation of new technologies and system improvements Special Working Conditions Must be able to work overtime as needed This position requires unescorted access to the Joint Management Center (JTMC) A fingerprint-based national criminal history record (CHRC) is required, prior to assignment. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in public or business administration, accounting, mathematics, or a related field.Substitution :
Work experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. Such experience must have provided the knowledge, skills, and analytical ability normally gained from attainment of a Bachelor's degree.For example:
1. Four (4) years of professional work experience, in any occupation, may substitute for a general bachelor's degree. 2. Four (4) years of general work experience (does not need to be professional level experience) in computer science, information technology, management information systems (MIS), or similar area may substitute for a general bachelor's degree.Education Verification :
