- Office of Assessment, Accountability, and Analytics Job Focus Area This Educational Technical Consultant position is located within the Office of Assessments, Accountability, and Analytics.
The position implements and supports accountability and measurement systems across the Birth to Grade 12 environment. The incumbent supports the development, maintenance, and enhancement of data systems; produces and validates data outputs to inform decision-making; and fulfills internal and external data and research requests. This position serves as a technical project owner and systems support lead, coordinating the planning, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of data systems that support statewide accountability, measurement, and reporting functions. Applicants with the following experience are encouraged to apply:
- Familiarity with: Jira, Zendesk, Excel or Google Sheets, SQL Server / SQL Server Management Studio, Windows 11, and Active Directory Users and Computers
- Strong understanding of data systems and their application in education policy and accountability
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in translating technical information for diverse audiences A bachelor's degree plus six years of experience in education, administrative services, web development, or graphic design; OR A master's degree plus four years of experience in education, administrative services, web development, or graphic design; OR A doctorate in education plus two years of experience in education, administrative services, web development, or graphic design.

Job Duties:
In this role, you will:
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data systems, accountability processes, and related programmatic requirements
- Provide guidance and technical assistance to internal staff, school systems, and external stakeholders
- Interpret policies, procedures, and data to support decision-making and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical audiences
- Identify risks, issues, and dependencies in project and system development
- Provide ongoing support for data systems and tools used by the field
- Lead and manage projects from planning through implementation, including testing, launch, and post-launch enhancements
- Manage help desk tickets and user inquiries through platforms such as Jira or Zendesk
- Develop and maintain user-facing resources, including guides, FAQs, and knowledge base articles

Appointment Type:
Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.

Compensation:
The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $30.12/hour.
