Job Description

University of Michigan Health-West (Formally Metro Health) is looking for Clinical Pharmacist Analyst - IT. The Clinical Pharmacy Analyst supports the safe and effective use of medications through the maintenance, configuration, and support of pharmacy-related systems and clinical applications. This role partners with pharmacy, IT, and clinical teams to ensure medication-use workflows are accurate, compliant, and optimized across care settings.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy. Licensed pharmacist in the State of Michigan (or eligible) State of Michigan Controlled Substance License (current or eligible). Minimum 1 year of clinical pharmacy experience or informatics exposure. Foundational knowledge of pharmacy workflows, medication safety principles, and EMR systems. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams. Clear and effective communication skills in clinical and technical settings. PGY1 residency (especially with informatics exposure) preferred. Certification or training in Epic Willow, Epic Ambulatory (CAM), or similar systems preferred. Experience supporting ambulatory pharmacy workflows or therapy/care plan tools preferred. Demonstrated ability to review and prepare ERx builds preferred.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Support the design, configuration, validation, and maintenance of medication records and clinical workflows in the EHR and related systems. Partner with clinical stakeholders to analyze needs, validate requests, and develop safe and feasible solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve pharmacy informatics issues in collaboration with technical and vendor teams. Assist in ensuring system integrity, regulatory compliance, and clinical accuracy in medication-related applications. Collaborate during system upgrades, validation cycles, and major changes impacting medication workflows. Participate in internal quality and safety initiatives, and contribute to alert optimization efforts. Performs other duties as assigned. These may include but are not limited to: Maintaining a current knowledge base of department processes, protocols and procedures, pursuing self-directed learning and continuing education opportunities, and participating on committees, task forces, and work groups as determined by management.
