Workday Sr People Data & Analytics Specialist 12 month contract
Location:
Bridgewater, NJ Pay range: $69-$74/hr DOE We are seeking a Workday People Data & Analytics Specialist supports HR data analytics, reporting, and dashboarding efforts across core people systems, with a primary focus on Workday. This role reports to the Senior Manager, People Data & Analytics and partners with HR and business stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely, and meaningful people insights and reporting that support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This is a temporary/contract role with the potential to convert to a permanent position based on business needs and performance. This individual brings hands-on experience maintaining HR reports and dashboards, contributing to ongoing audits and system enhancements, and responding to routine and ad hoc reporting requests. Under guidance, the Specialist assists with data management, analysis, and presentation to help translate people data into actionable insights. This role plays an important part in enhancing the employee experience through data while ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and operational excellence. Additionally, this role will manage ad hoc HR reporting requests from across the organization, along with federal and state reporting requirements. Responsibilities:
Workday Reporting Support:
Build, maintain, and update custom Workday reports and dashboards using tools such as Report Writer and Advanced Reporting, under guidance from senior team members. Operational Analytics & Reporting:
Support recurring HR reporting, dashboards, and metrics across key HR functions (e.g., HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning & Development) using Qlik and other reporting tools. Data Management and Analysis:
Analyze HR data to identify trends, patterns, and data quality issues; contribute to summaries and insights that inform business decisions. Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner with HR functional teams to understand reporting needs, clarify requirements, and deliver solutions that meet defined objectives. Ad Hoc Requests:
Support ad hoc people data and analytics requests, including preparation of reports for leadership, audits, and internal stakeholders. Data Quality & System Utilization:
Monitor data integrity and consistency across HR systems; identify opportunities for process improvements and escalate recommendations as appropriate. Compliance & Reporting Support:
Assist with federal, state, and internal HR reporting requirements and audits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Documentation & Best Practices:
Contribute to reporting documentation, job aids, and standard operating procedures to support scalability and consistency. Confidentiality:
Handle sensitive employee data with a high level of discretion and confidentiality at all times. Additional Duties:
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the People Data & Analytics function. Qualifications & Skills:
3-5 years of experience working with Workday, with a focus on reporting, dashboards, or HR analytics. Experience with additional HR systems and data analytics tools such as Quantum Workplace, Qlik, MAXQDA, Tableau, or similar platforms. Experience supporting HR, People Analytics, or Talent-related functions. Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other highly regulated industry experience preferred. Hands-on experience creating and maintaining reports and visualizations for business users. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy. Ability to communicate data findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality. Understanding of data visualization best practices and storytelling concepts. Workday Reporting Certification, Workday Pro Certification, or progress toward certification preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas and data analysis), PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organization. Education:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
