Job Description Overview The Workday SME / Administrator will serve as the functional and administrative owner of the Workday platform, supporting day-to-day operations, configuration, reporting, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across HR systems. This role partners with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure Workday is stable, secure, and aligned with business needs. Key Responsibilities Administer and support the Workday platform, including user access, security roles, business process configuration, and system maintenance. Act as the subject matter expert for Workday modules such as HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, and Talent, depending on business scope. Gather business requirements and translate them into scalable Workday solutions. Configure and maintain business processes, calculated fields, notifications, validations, and approval workflows. Support Workday releases, feature enhancements, testing, and regression validation. Troubleshoot system issues, resolve production support tickets, and coordinate with Workday Support or third-party partners when needed. Build, maintain, and optimize reports, dashboards, and data extracts for business users and leadership. Ensure data integrity, compliance, audit readiness, and adherence to internal controls. Support integrations between Workday and external systems, including benefit vendors, payroll providers, identity systems, and finance platforms. Create SOPs, training materials, and knowledge documentation for end users and internal teams. Partner with stakeholders on system enhancements, change requests, and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, or a related field. Hands-on experience administering and supporting Workday in an enterprise environment. Strong understanding of Workday security, business processes, reporting, and data management. Experience supporting one or more Workday functional areas such as Core HCM, Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Talent, or Time Tracking. Ability to gather requirements, analyze issues, and recommend practical system solutions. Experience with testing, release management, and production support. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate across cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications Workday certification in one or more modules. Experience with Workday integrations, EIBs, Workday Studio, Core Connectors, or APIs. Familiarity with HRIS governance, compliance, and audit processes. Experience in large-scale Workday implementations, optimization projects, or post-go-live support. Knowledge of SOX, data privacy, and role-based security best practices.
