American Industrial Supply is a leading provider of industrial pipes, valves, fittings, and other related products. We serve a variety of industries including manufacturing, construction, and oil & gas. We are currently looking for a skilled Vendor Managed Inventory & Inventory Analyst to join our growing team. This role will require driving to customer locations for on-site inventory management, data collection, and vendor relationship building.Position Overview:
The Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) & Inventory Analyst will be responsible for managing inventory levels and maintaining smooth operations at customer sites. This position will require you to travel to customer locations to ensure inventory accuracy, optimize stock levels, and provide on-site support. You will work closely with customers, and internal teams to drive supply chain efficiency and meet customer demand while minimizing operational costs.Key Responsibilities:
Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)Implementation & Management:
Drive to customer locations to conduct regular on-site inventory checks, stock audits, and replenishment activities. Collaborate with customers to ensure Vendor Managed Inventory processes are aligned and meet both customer and company needs. Monitor inventory levels and adjust reorder quantities based on demand, lead times, and customer requirements. Ensure timely replenishment of inventory at customer locations to avoid stockouts or overstocking.Inventory Control & Optimization:
Conduct regular on-site inventory counts, cycle counts, and physical inventory audits to maintain accurate records and resolve discrepancies. Develop and maintain processes to ensure that inventory is well-managed and optimized, minimizing waste and excess stock. Analyze inventory trends and identify opportunities for improvement in stock levels, order quantities, and inventory flow.Customer Support & Relationship Management:
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inventory concerns, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction with product availability and inventory practices. Work closely with customers to understand their inventory needs and ensure VMI programs are effectively supporting their operational goals. Support customers in identifying opportunities to streamline inventory processes, reduce costs, and improve product availability.Qualifications:
2-4 years of experience in vendor-managed inventory (VMI), inventory control, or supply chain management, preferably in the industrial sector (e.g., pipe, valves, and fittings). Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer locations. Proficiency in using ERP systems (Profit 21) and advanced Excel skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage and interpret large data sets. Excellent communication and negotiation skills for building vendor and customer relationships. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of inventory management principles and practices, including demand forecasting, stock control, and supply chain optimization.Working Conditions:
