Job Description

IT Pharmacy Applications Consultant Gratiot, OH A Forbes top-100-ranked hospital system in east central Ohio is seeking an IT Pharmacy Applications Consultant to serve as the primary liaison between pharmacy, nursing, clinical departments, and information technology. This is a full-time, on-site role embedded within a rural community health system with a strong regional reputation for patient care. The position reports to the IT Manager of Ambulatory and Pharmacy Applications.

Compensation:
$51.93 to $71.49 per hour ($108,000 to $148,000 annually), commensurate with experience. What You'll Do You will coordinate pharmacy and clinical information system projects across inpatient and ambulatory settings, working closely with the Pharmacy department, nursing units, the Emergency Department, and other clinical areas to identify operational needs, evaluate system solutions, and develop implementation plans. You will manage the clinical system-based inpatient and ambulatory drug formularies and oversee closed-loop medication management applications within the facilities' information systems. You will serve as a liaison among IT, pharmacy, nursing, clinical department directors, and the medical staff, translating clinical workflow requirements into system design decisions and ensuring project milestones are met across large enterprise deployments. You will coordinate with corporate management to define organizational goals and develop systems and procedures that support more effective clinical operations. You will also maintain working knowledge of accreditation standards as they relate to pharmacy and clinical information systems and apply that knowledge to ongoing system governance and compliance activities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or a related field Current Ohio Pharmacist license in good standing Minimum three years of acute care pharmacy experience Minimum four years of experience in systems administration, systems analysis and design, or clinical information system project management (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) Extensive knowledge of nursing department operations and interdepartmental clinical workflows Experience with large-scale enterprise clinical system implementations Epic certification or hands-on Epic implementation experience Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects Preferred Qualifications Retail pharmacy experience in addition to acute care background Experience with closed-loop medication management systems Familiarity with ambulatory pharmacy application workflows Prior experience as a clinical informaticist or pharmacy informatics specialist Experience presenting to or collaborating with medical staff leadership Compensation and Benefits $51.93 to $71.49 per hour, based on years of experience Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid time off Full benefits package To apply, submit your resume along with a brief summary of your Epic and pharmacy informatics experience.
