Under the direction of the Technical Systems Supervisor, this position is responsible for coordination, development, and administration of CAD (computer aided dispatch). This position also serves as an extension of the Information Management Office for general County network oversight. Essential Job Functions:
Provides administration, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance and 24x7 support for staff and field users for the Computer Aided Dispatch system in addition to the third-party various interfaces attached to the CAD system. Some of these interfaces require routine data manipulation/purging/archiving. This also involves application configuration, application troubleshooting and field user technical support. Provides administration, maintenance and 24x7 support for the Mobile Client Management systems (Mobile Responder and Mobile for Public Safety). This includes virtual private network connections, firewalls, NetMotion, and Client user devices. Works with County's GIS department in providing and validating updated addresses for the Master Street Address Guide (MSAG), commonplaces, emergency service zones and other layers. Also coordinates the mapping updates for the CAD system. Acts as alternate contact for County's IMTO department and 24-hour technical support for the office and 911 center staff. Plans, implements and manages computers and technologically advanced systems within DPS to include security patches, operating system updates, virus protection updates, etc. Provides training and documentation on use of new software. Coordinates programs for printers and fax broadcast systems. Works with vendors and contractors in conjunction with Technical Systems Manager and Coordinator where needed. Provides 911 Communications Center and Emergency Operations Center staffing, management, and direction along with technical, logistical and physical assistance to coordinate emergency incidents. This includes subject matter expertise for Incident Command, time critical decisions, crisis resolution, and determination of tactical operations to mitigate or lessen impact of natural and man-made disasters on the public and the environment. Acts as a backup for the Technical Systems Supervisor for support of other IT systems. Supervises implementation and installation of CAD computer systems. Administers and supervises employee training on CAD computer systems and related network interfaces. Communicates with other government offices and agencies to promote, facilitate, and implement data to provide the efficient delivery of public safety activities. Provides direct input into the policies and procedures of the 911 Center. Supervises and implements programs as assigned by the Technical Systems Supervisor, Technical Systems Manager or Director. Updates, documents and maintains records of events, circumstances and actions associated with the functionality of multiple computer systems. Prepares operational and other reports in timely and accurate manner as required. Act as alternate contact for IMTO and 24-hour technical support contact for office and 911 Center staff. IMTO has provided the CAD Coordinator network admin rights to aid in daily changes to the office network within DPS and assist IMTO as needed. Provides administrative support to the 911 Communication Center as required Assist in the manning of the Emergency Operations Center during exercises and emergencies and participate in training as required. Provides technical assistance to the various vendors and utilities requiring data and systems access. Perform other job-related duties as required. Minimum Requirements to Perform the Work:
Education:
Any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to an associate's degree with concentration in information management. Working knowledge of public safety and emergency services in a government structure preferred. Must be able to complete all required National Incident Management System (NIMS) and other required courses within two years of date of hire. Work Experience:
