Your role and responsibilities As a Delivery Consultant, you will work closely with IBM clients and partners to design, deliver, and optimize IBM Technology solutions that align with your clients' goals. In this role, you will apply your technical expertise to ensure world-class delivery while leveraging your consultative skills such as problem-solving, communication, and service orientation skills. As a member of IBM Expert Labs, a team that is client focused, courageous, pragmatic, and technical, you'll collaborate with clients to optimize and trailblaze new solutions that address real business challenges. This role combines technical expertise, operational excellence, strategic account management, and program leadership to drive successful client engagements and business growth in the Z software portfolio. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can bridge technical and business conversations, building trusted relationships with IBM clients and internal teams while delivering complex infrastructure programs. You will serve as a key liaison between technical teams, account executives, and clients, ensuring seamless program execution and driving revenue growth through expanded engagements. Required education High School Diploma/GED Preferred education Bachelor's Degree Required technical and professional expertise Understanding of technical architectures, software tooling, modernization approaches, security concepts, and site reliability and performance concepts Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, cloud and containerization concepts, especially within hybrid cloud scenarios Data and analytics knowledge, experience gathering and reporting data metrics and using analytics tools Cybersecurity and compliance awareness, especially in the context of regulated workloads running on IBM Z Program, Leadership, & Delivery Skills End‑to‑end program planning and execution across multiple phases and cross‑functional teams Ability to translate technical requirements into business outcomes Metrics-driven delivery mindset using KPIs, OKRs, and dashboards Expertise with Agile, Scrum, and hybrid delivery models used in large enterprise software organizations Clear communication across technical and non-technical audiences, including executives Effective facilitation of technical discussions, architectural reviews, and decision-making forums Strong documentation, organization, and storytelling skills, ensuring clarity in program status and technical context Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate program risks to ensure successful delivery Long-term strategic thinking Navigate and analyze financial charts, budgets, and project financials to ensure program profitability Preferred technical and professional experience Mainframe systems software programming experience Understanding of IBM Z architecture (z/OS, z/VM, z/Linux, z/TPF, hardware concepts like LPARs, PR/SM) and with IBM Z software tooling Experience with mainframe modernization approaches, including APIs, Linux on Z, hybrid cloud patterns, and z/OS Connect Risk management and mitigation strategies for large-scale enterprise programs Identification and resolution of less clearly defined problems using established procedures and/or protocols as guidelines Experience maintaining comprehensive project documentation, including status reports, risk registers, and deliverable tracking Cultivate and strengthen relationships with IBM Expert Labs clients and internal account teams Experience building reusable assets, frameworks, and methodologies to accelerate projects; identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and project delivery PMP, SAFe, AWS/Azure/GCP certifications, ITIL, or similar credentials IBM has a global presence, operating in more than 175 countries with a broad-based geographic distribution of revenue.
