Talener Title :
Technical Applications Analyst Location:
Hybrid
  • Boston (~2 days a week in office)
Client:
Publicly traded regional P&C insurer, Boston-based ~$1.25B in revenue, ~570 employees, and a dominant player in the New England market with roughly 10% market share in their home state. They write personal and commercial lines (auto, homeowners, umbrella, BOP) exclusively through independent agents. Consistently ranked a top place to work. The IT/MIS team is in active transformation mode
  • the manager is rebuilding the team's mandate around platform ownership and AI enablement. Stable company, long-tenured employees, genuine investment in modernization. Role Description This is a builder role

  • understanding the platforms, identifying real business use cases across Claims, Underwriting, Billing, and Operations, and shipping something meaningful (think: an AI or automation use case that creates visible ROI).
Year two is about owning the roadmap and driving strategy. You'd be sitting on a 9-person IT team, with a soon-to-be-hired enterprise systems architect who will serve as a direct mentor. There are 3 levels of growth above this role. Leadership is non-micromanaging
  • they want someone who can take a directive and run. Required Skills 1-3 years of experience in a business systems analyst, application analyst, or similar role Hands-on experience with ServiceNow (required) and/or Box (strong plus) Ability to manage the full platform lifecycle
  • intake, config, testing, deploy, validate, iterate Comfortable defining baseline metrics and measuring business outcomes Strong communicator who can work across both technical and business stakeholders Self-starter
  • someone who can operate with autonomy and take ownership Nice to Have Familiarity with AI/LLM tools (Copilot, Gemini, or similar) Experience with managed service vendor relationships Prior insurance industry exposure Relevant certifications (ServiceNow, Box, etc.) CS, engineering, or math degree
  • but not required if you have the track record Compensation Contract-to-hire opportunity, hourly rate is $35/hour.
