GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Performs professional systems administration, enhancement, maintenance, and integrations for systems in support of the Driscoll Health System's information technology department. . Works along-side analysts, developers, Epic, network, and security teams to implement system-wide business and clinical applications. Coordinates vendor activities with end user needs, or participate in demos and testing vendor provided software to evaluate for possible use. Builds and implements system-wide solutions that brings various computer-system components together to act as a single system. Evaluates existing components or systems to determine build, configuration, integration, and other technical requirements and to ensure final solutions meets the system-wide needs. Position may be business or clinical focused, or may be general in nature.

Technical Analyst:

At this level employees work under supervision of a manager, or a lead to gain exposure to more complex tasks within established knowledge, skills and abilities of the specific analyst in a support role; and occasionally directed in several aspects of the work, however, some evaluation, originality or ingenuity is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Gathers data and information on processing steps/workflows and clarifies requirements by observing and interviewing end users and other involved staff, and translates into file transformations and/or integrations to support those needs. Designs, implements and maintains new or existing development, and provides tier 2 and higher technical support to a wide variety of departments Prepares test data, scenarios, and coordinates system testing related to new or existing development, and new product code releases; maintains logs, and ensures fixes are in place prior to implementation. Participates in the design and configuration management of assigned production, test, backup, recovery, migration and archive systems and procedures. Works project tasks, requests, tickets, and plans and coordinates Change Management for all assigned systems. Researches and provides input related to strategic direction and security for interface engine and related file servers for a variety of business and clinical solutions. Reads technical journals and attends seminars and workshops to learn about new developments and changing technology trends. Recommends proper hardware and software implementations to improve quality, efficiency and minimize costs. Provides technical information, documentation, and/or instruction in non-technical terms to end users. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work. Mentors and trains others. Performs other related work as required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Technical Analyst:

Associate's degree and/or applicable technical certification(s), and/or four (4) to eight (8) years of relevant technical experience. Until all children are well. Driscoll Children's Hospital and its specialty centers, urgent care centers, and after-hours facility serve a vast area covering 31 South Texas counties.
