Senior Technical Consultant- ArcGIS (Defense) ESRI $107,120—$183,040 USD life insurance, vacation time, paid holidays, 401(k), relocation assistance Jun 23, 2026 Overview Join Esri`s Professional Services team and help deliver mission critical geospatial solutions that directly support Defense operations and objectives. As a Senior Technical Consultant, you will partner with defense organizations to design and implement ArcGIS solutions that enhance operational planning, situational awareness, and mission execution. You will translate complex operational requirements into scalable geospatial workflows and enterprise solutions. You will serve as a trusted advisor to customers, providing technical leadership, guiding architecture decisions, and ensuring successful adoption of ArcGIS across real world, mission focused environments. This is an opportunity to apply your expertise in high impact settings where your work directly supports operational readiness and mission success. Esri has a Relocation Assistance Program and can provide support with relocating to the Norfolk, VA area for this position. This position would be onsite with a customer at Langley AFB. Responsibilities Work closely with customers and partners to identify, design, and certify key GIS workflows for the ArcGIS platform
Provide platform configuration guidance and best practices to customers regarding innovative solutions using Esri technology and content to help them make better decisions
Identify the value of location within customer workflows and drive substantial return on their investment in Esri's enterprise platform and services
Develop and present complex GIS technical demonstrations to various levels of staff in a diverse range of customer organizations
Collaborate with customer IT organizations to align their technical objectives and business goals with Esri's technology enterprise
Work independently and as a team to execute project tasks, deliver services, and implement solutions
Grow expertise in a broad range of ArcGIS software components and business contexts Requirements 8+ years of professional experience in a similar position, supporting similar responsibilities
Eagerness to work closely with customers to solve interesting problems
Professional experience designing, implementing, and/or administrating enterprise GIS solutions/systems that leverage the ArcGIS platform (desktop, server, and online)
Proven experience leveraging Esri's software capabilities including mapping, field operations, spatial analysis and data science, 3D visualization and analytics, data management, and developer APIs
Proactively craft and propose solutions that clarify how GIS brings business value to address critical business challenges faced by customers, specifically in the Defense and Intel domain
Advanced ArcGIS Platform Configuration skills
Advanced programming and scripting experience with Python, Arcade, and/or HTML/JavaScript
Knowledge in modeling and managing logical and topological network data
System administration experience on Windows
Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, mathematics, geographic information systems, or STEM related field Recommended Qualifications Master's degree in geography, computer science, mathematics, geographic information systems, or STEM related field
CompTIA Security + certification
Domain experience around Defense and Intelligence content workflows
Experience with current technology implementation patterns, including service-oriented and cloud computing architecture
System administration experience on Linux and Kubernetes
Experience taking systems through the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process
