Job Summary:
The Educational Technology Analyst works closely with other User Services personnel on the IT staff to assure a high level of user satisfaction with all aspects of workstation operation and support across campus. The Analyst will assist in supporting all aspects of educational technology and determining suitable hardware or software to meet user requirements, troubleshoots software and hardware failures and identifies network problems when they relate to servers, endpoints, platform, or related peripheral equipment. This position is based onsite at Eastern Mennonite University and is not remote or hybrid. Relocation reimbursement is not available for this role.
Product Knowledge:
Windows OS, Mac OS, Chrome OS, and iOS used in an enterprise environment Microsoft Office as used in an enterprise environment Firefox, Chrome, Edge, and Safari Moodle, Teams, Panopto, TeamDynamix Google Workspace for Education Approved by Human Resources 05.01.23 Classroom Technology (projectors, Extron control systems, document cameras, webcams, microphones) Audio Visual equipment (sound mixers, light boards, etc.)
Duties/Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and support classroom technology. Provide backup as needed for campus AV events. Training, support, and documentation for Moodle, Teams, and Panopto. Assist with Helpdesk Operations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Relate well to users of varying technical proficiency. Work and collaborate in a team environment. Demonstrate good judgment in decision-making and planning. Balance multiple competing requests in a fast-paced environment. Respond to user requests efficiently and effectively. Communicate well in speech and writing. Troubleshoot and resolve problems. Document and monitor educational tech procedures and processes. Flexibility to work some weekend and evening hours.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or similar field; or equivalent work experience. Certifications welcomed. 2-3 years of experience in technical computer-related positions, demonstrating the ability to understand hardware management at a detailed technical level that allows enterprise planning. This person must demonstrate the ability to learn new technical environments and have excellent problem-diagnosis and resolution skills.
Physical Requirements:
Moderate physical work, such as carrying equipment (50 lbs) and working on ladders. Manual dexterity for working with computer components.
