National Capitol Contracting Position Summary This is an ONSITE position located in Washington, D.C.
ACTIVE TOP SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED. NCC
is seeking candidates for a Unified Communications Engineer SME to provide direct technical direction and analysis for telecommunication activities including planning, designing, configuring, integrating, installing, and maintaining voice, video, and data telecommunications/communications networks and services with computer systems. Key Areas of Responsibilities Serve as the senior technical authority for enterprise Unified Communications (UC) environments, providing leadership on strategic initiatives and mission-critical assignments. Establish goals, roadmaps, and project plans aligned with organizational objectives. Design, engineer, integrate, and optimize enterprise voice, video, and collaboration platforms including Cisco CUCM, Unity Connection, Expressway, and Microsoft Teams Voice. Provide Tier 4 troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution for complex outages and performance issues. Analyze network performance, traffic flows, interfaces, and protocols to recommend improvements and modernization efforts. Integrate UC solutions with Active Directory, cloud services, virtualization platforms, and network infrastructure. Implement secure communications using TLS, SRTP, certificates, IPSEC, and ensure compliance with applicable standards such as DISA STIGs. Lead projects such as technology refreshes, data center migrations, and collaboration platform enhancements. Partner with clients and stakeholders to assess needs, analyze data, and recommend solutions. Develop and maintain SOPs, engineering documentation, diagrams, and technical standards. Mentor team members, advise leadership, delegate effectively, and collaborate across all organizational levels. Perform other duties as assigned. Polygraph Bachelor's degree in a related field 10+ years of enterprise telecommunications and Unified Communications engineering/administration experience Expert knowledge of voice, video, collaboration systems, and supporting networks Experience with Cisco CUCM, Unity Connection, IM & Presence, Expressway, and Microsoft Teams Voice Strong knowledge of SIP, H.323, MGCP, UDP, RTP, SRTP, and TLS protocols Experience with QoS, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, IPSEC, Cisco CUBE, Oracle SBC, and related network technologies Experience with ESXi virtualization, Cisco UCS, and cloud environments (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) Knowledge of security controls, certificates, and compliance standards such as DISA STIGs Strong leadership, decision-making, and project management skills Demonstrated attention to detail Excellent communication, interpersonal, and emotional intelligence skills Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and lead teams effectively Preferred Qualifications One of the following certifications: Cisco Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Collaboration Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Collaboration.
