Job Description

Job Requirements Honolulu, HI Secret Polygraph not specified Mid Level Career (5+ yrs experience) $79,000 - $114,000 Job Description TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Voice Administrator/Engineer to support a mission‑critical unified communications environment. This role is focused on the administration, engineering, and troubleshooting of large-scale, IP-based voice and data communications systems. The position operates in an on-site environment, collaborating closely with a small technical team while handling escalated UC issues, supporting new installations, and ensuring reliable communications services that meet contractual service levels. The ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of relevant experience and a strong background in voice over IP technologies, SIP signaling, and enterprise networking. Responsibilities include advanced fault isolation and troubleshooting across routing, switching, security, and voice infrastructures; administering and supporting soft switches, session border controllers, and media gateways; and executing new installs or short-term deployment efforts as directed by the program office. The environment is fully IP-based, with legacy TDM systems already retired. This role requires hands-on experience with one or more major voice platforms, including Cisco, Ribbon, Oracle SBCs, and Avaya (noting that Avaya platforms are approaching end of life). A strong emphasis is placed on Ribbon and Oracle SBC technologies, which are central to the current voice architecture. Candidates should demonstrate deep expertise in SIP internetworking, call flow analysis, SRTP, codecs (G.711, G.729), DTMF, and QoS design and troubleshooting for voice and critical application traffic. From a networking perspective, candidates should have solid system and device administration experience, including routing and switching, firewall support (primarily Cisco ASA), virtualization (VMware), distributed firewall environments, IPSec and MPLS VPNs, and BGP routing. Experience designing, implementing, and supporting secure voice and data networks is essential. Basic qualifications include a bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience or a master's degree with 2-6 years of experience. Candidates must currently hold an active Secret security clearance and possess a DoD 8750 IAT Level II-compliant certification, such as Security+ CE (or equivalent). CCNA is preferred. Two seniority levels are available, corresponding to journeyman and senior Voice/Data Communications Engineer classifications, with compensation aligned to experience and skill level. This is a backfill position on a long-term contract with strong visibility and growth potential. The team is expected to expand as consolidation efforts continue, offering long-term stability and opportunities for increased responsibility within a five-year contract horizon.
