Ensure 99.99% uptime for critical radio systems - including base stations, repeaters, bi-directional amplifiers (BDAs), and distributed antenna systems (DAS) across all hospital facilities. Manage radio hardware lifecycle Act as primary technical liaison for
MARCS-IP
system; and troubleshoot P25-compliant mobile and portable radios for clinical and security staff. Maintain specialized communication links for Care Flight and emergency services Design communication protocols for mass casualty events Coordinate with Campus PD for special events Conduct RF site surveys and optimization Manage FCC licensing and regulatory compliance Develop PACE strategy (Primary, Alternate, Contingency, Emergency) plan for all critical clinical and security communication pathways. Oversee vendor management
Note:
Candidates must be willing to commute and work "in-person" often at the Dayton, Ohio area offices Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or related field Years of experience will be considered in lieu of formal education 5-7 years of experience in Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems
FCC HAM Technician License:
Strongly preferred or required within 6 months of hire. CJIS Compliance & Certification or Approval from
Premier Chief of Police:
Must be able to pass a rigorous state and federal fingerprint-based background check. The candidate must obtain and maintain LECJIS (Law Enforcement Criminal Justice Information System) certification within 30 days of hire to legally handle radios and infrastructure that carry encrypted law enforcement data.
Public Safety Sensitive Access:
Due to the requirement of managing encrypted keys (Key Management Facility/KMF) for Campus Police and Care Flight, the candidate must have no felony convictions and meet the "trustworthiness" standards set by the Ohio Attorney General's Office for access to OHLEG (Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway) sensitive areas. Proficiency with Motorola APX series radios and CPS Knowledge of RF theory, antenna systems, and signal interference troubleshooting Expert-level knowledge of AES-256 and ADP encryption standards within the P25 environment Must be able to lift up to 75lbs (radios, batteries, base units) Join Premier Health's dynamic team and make a meaningful impact on critical communication systems.
