Onsite Position Overview We are hiring a PBX Administrator for a long-term contract opportunity supporting a large-scale airport technology environment. This role is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and operational support of enterprise telephony systems, including Avaya PBX, VoIP infrastructure, media gateways, ACD platforms, and legacy voice services. The ideal candidate will ensure reliable voice communications for operational, administrative, and public safety functions while coordinating with third-party vendors for escalations and support services. Responsibilities Administer and maintain Avaya PBX systems, including call routing, extensions, voicemail, and system configurations. Support media gateways, session managers, VoIP phones, and related telephony infrastructure. Manage ACD queues, agent configurations, call workflows, and routing rules. Troubleshoot telephony issues, including dropped calls, endpoint failures, routing problems, and configuration errors. Maintain POTS lines, analog gateways, fax lines, elevator phones, emergency phones, and other legacy telephony devices. Perform routine system monitoring, preventative maintenance, firmware updates, and patch management. Coordinate moves, adds, and changes (MAC) for phone extensions, devices, voicemail, and routing plans. Work with third-party vendors to resolve service-impacting issues and implement new telephony features. Maintain accurate documentation of call flows, system configurations, inventories, diagrams, and wiring assignments. Support VoIP integrations with network, systems, and application platforms as required. Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements 3-7 years of experience administering Avaya PBX or similar enterprise telephony platforms. Strong knowledge of PBX architecture, SIP, VoIP technologies, media gateways, analog telephony, and ACD workflows. Experience supporting POTS lines, emergency phones, fax systems, elevator phones, and legacy telecommunications equipment. Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including VLANs, QoS, and PoE as they relate to VoIP performance. Ability to troubleshoot telephony issues and diagnose voice service disruptions. Experience managing telephony configurations, call routing, voicemail systems, and endpoint provisioning. Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience working in large enterprise, transportation, public sector, or mission-critical environments is preferred. Avaya, VoIP, telecommunications, or related certifications are preferred.
