Job Description

About the Opportunity An organization supporting federal telecommunications initiatives is seeking a Senior Telecommunications Engineer with expertise in SIP/VoIP technologies, Session Border Controllers (SBCs), E-911/NG911 call routing, and PSAP integrations. This role is focused on telecommunications engineering, system integration, deployment support, troubleshooting, and technical validation activities within a federal environment.. Duties Design, deploy, and support SIP/VoIP communications systems and voice infrastructure Configure and troubleshoot Session Border Controllers (SBCs), gateways, and voice interconnections Support
E-911/NG911
call routing and PSAP integration activities Perform packet capture, call-flow analysis, and troubleshooting using Wireshark Conduct deployment validation, readiness assessments, and technical risk identification Coordinate with technical teams and stakeholders during implementation and integration activities Support interoperability testing, system upgrades, and migration efforts Maintain technical documentation, configurations, and implementation records Follow established operational, security, and change management processes Qualifications 10+ years of telecommunications engineering experience 5+ years of SIP/VoIP engineering experience Experience with Ribbon Communications, Sonus, Genband, or similar voice gateway technologies Strong understanding of Session Border Controllers (SBCs), SIP signaling, and VoIP call flows Experience with
E-911/NG911
environments and PSAP integrations Advanced troubleshooting experience using Wireshark and packet analysis tools Active Secret Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting federal, defense, or public safety telecommunications environments Experience with Army
VMOD, DISA VISP, PSAP
integration projects, or related telecommunications programs Cisco certifications such as CCNP or CCIE Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience Consider This Before Applying This is a fully on-site role based in Winchester, VA An Active Secret Security Clearance is required The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, system integration, deployment support, and coordination across multiple stakeholders Experience with SIP/VoIP engineering, SBCs, E-911/NG911, and PSAP environments is central to the position
Pay:
$140,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
