Job Description

Position Summary The Engineer II - Special Projects is responsible for engineering and coordinating large-scale fiber infrastructure projects supporting hyperscale and enterprise customers. These projects span multiple jurisdictions and require advanced planning, cross-functional coordination, and strict adherence to timelines. This role serves as a key driver of project success by ensuring engineering readiness, managing dependencies, and proactively mitigating risks that could impact delivery schedules for high-value customers. Job Responsibilities Lead engineering efforts for aerial, underground, and inside plant (ISP) fiber builds Support execution of hyperscale and enterprise fiber builds with aggressive timelines Coordinate multi-phase, multi-jurisdiction fiber builds Manage cross-project dependencies (permits, materials, contractors) Develop permitting strategies across multiple municipalities Manage ROW, easements, and agency coordination Serve as technical interface for hyperscale customers Other duties as assigned Education/Experience/Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience) 3-6+ years fiber engineering or telecom experience Knowledge of OSP/ISP design and permitting Familiarity with
NEC, OSHA, FCC
standards Proficient in GIS and ESRI software Proficient in AutoCAD Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Ability to write reports, correspondence and documentation Ability to utilize and/or interpret the National Electric Safety Code Well versed in fiber optics and dark fiber applications
