Job Description

What You Will Do:
As a core member of the Maru team, you won't just hand off wireframes—you will see your designs through to production:
Design & Build:
Architect and develop intuitive, highly responsive user interfaces for complex, data-driven web applications using modern frameworks (React, Angular, etc.). Simplify the
Complex:
Deep dive into highly technical workflows and translate them into clean, efficient, and user-centered experiences that drive adoption and reduce cognitive load for analysts. Champion the
User:
Gather real-time feedback from end-users and product owners, continuously iterating on interface design and functionality.
Standardize & Scale:
Contribute to and lead the evolution of robust design systems, maintaining consistent UI patterns, components, and style guides.
Ensure Accessibility:
Guarantee that all applications meet rigorous usability standards and accessibility best practices.
Optimize Performance:
Fine-tune front-end code to ensure maximum responsiveness, scalability, and performance in high-stakes environments.
Collaborate:
Work shoulder-to-shoulder with backend engineers and mission stakeholders to ensure seamless integration between UI/UX and system capabilities. Security Clearance & Citizenship (Required):

Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to successfully pass a Polygraph examination. What You Need to Bring (Basic Qualifications):
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 4-8 years of experience (or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of experience).
Front-End Mastery:
Deep expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, along with hands-on experience in modern UI frameworks (React, Angular, or similar).
UX Foundation:
A strong grasp of UX principles, interaction design, and usability testing.
Technical Agility:
Experience operating within Linux-based environments and the ability to translate raw user needs into functional, deployed solutions. Stand-Out Skills (Preferred Qualifications): Proven experience designing user interfaces specifically for data-driven GEOINT applications . Fluency in modern design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD). Experience with complex data visualization tools (e.g., Grafana). Familiarity with REST APIs and integrating front-end components with backend systems. Exposure to Agile workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and modern front-end deployment practices.
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
