Job Summary:
United States Suitability/Public Trust Fully remote Project/Program Management GovCIO is currently hiring for a Human Centered Design Analyst (Clinical Experience, AI & Workflow Evaluation) to support the evaluation and improvement of clinical workflows and user experiences across the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role focuses on understanding how clinicians and staff interact with digital health solutions, including AI-enabled capabilities, and translating those insights into actionable improvements that enhance usability, efficiency, and overall experience. This position will be located in the United States and will be a fully remote position, with occasional travel as needed to support stakeholder engagement and workflow observation. Responsibilities Supports the evaluation and improvement of clinical workflows and user experiences associated with digital health and AI-enabled solutions across the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Works under the guidance of the Human-Centered Design Lead to gather user insights, analyze workflows, and contribute to experience design and evaluation efforts that enhance usability, efficiency, and provider experience. Conducts and supports user research activities including interviews, focus groups, and workflow observations with clinical and operational staff Synthesizes qualitative findings into key themes, insights, and actionable recommendations Develops and maintains artifacts such as workflow maps, journey maps, and user experience summaries Assists in evaluating how digital health and AI-enabled tools (e.g., ambient scribe) are used in real-world clinical settings Supports user acceptance testing (UAT), field testing, and feedback collection efforts to assess usability and effectiveness Collaborates with clinical, technical, and operational stakeholders to identify workflow improvements and experience optimization opportunities Prepares materials and supports facilitation of workshops, design sessions, and stakeholder meetings Contributes to reports, presentations, and briefings for leadership and cross-functional teams Tracks insights, feedback, and evaluation findings to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience (or commensurate experience) Required Skills and Experience Experience supporting Human-Centered Design (HCD), user experience (UX), customer experience, healthcare operations, or digital transformation initiatives Experience conducting or supporting qualitative research methods (e.g., interviews, focus groups, workflow observation, synthesis) Ability to analyze and document workflows, user journeys, and experience insights Experience supporting evaluation activities such as user feedback collection, usability assessment, or user acceptance testing (UAT) Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to translate findings into clear, actionable insights Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including clinical, technical, and operational stakeholders Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment
