Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, BI Product/Portal supports the delivery of scalable, user‑centered experiences by translating business needs into clear product designs and requirements aligned to established UX vision, platform standards, and governance policies. Acting as a full‑scope support partner, this role works across the end‑to‑end lifecycle, from early requirements definition through development, UAT, change enablement, and release, to help ensure successful delivery and adoption. The role partners closely with UX leadership, business stakeholders, platform teams, and vendors to help reduce the backlog, enable self‑service, and improve how solutions are structured and delivered. The Senior Manager plays a key role in driving requirements clarity prior to development, supporting effective vendor execution, coordinating UAT and readiness activities, and balancing user experience with platform, data, security, and RBAC constraints, ultimately helping ensure solutions are usable, compliant, and actionable for the business.
CANDIDATE PROFILE 4
‑year degree from an accredited university in Product Design, Human‑Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience 6+ years of experience supporting or managing product experience, digital product design, analytics platforms, or enterprise software, with meaningful contribution from concept through delivery Proven experience translating business needs and ambiguous problem statements into actionable experience requirements, UI concepts, and system-level inputs Demonstrated ability to support persona‑driven design and experience strategy, including user segmentation, journey mapping, and adoption‑focused design, in alignment with an established UX vision Hands‑on experience partnering with UX leadership, design teams, vendors, engineers, and architects to shape solutions prior to development Strong analytical foundation, with the ability to reason across data, systems, and user behavior (hands‑on SQL or development experience a plus, but not required) Experience working within enterprise platforms where governance, security, and scalability must be balanced with user experience and flexibility Familiarity with business intelligence, analytics platforms, or data‑driven products preferred Experience influencing without authority and communicating complex experience and requirement tradeoffs to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including leadership Proven ability to operate effectively in early‑stage problem spaces with limited definition and evolving constraints Familiarity with Marriott systems or large enterprise environments is a plus
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Support persona‑driven product and experience design by translating business needs into experience requirements aligned to the UX vision, experience strategy, and UI standards Partner with business stakeholders to support problem discovery, clarify decision contexts, and surface key experience requirements and constraints Translate business objectives into experience requirements, interaction models, and UI inputs that inform downstream design and delivery Partner closely with UX teams, design teams, and vendors to develop concept mockups and prototypes that align stakeholders and refine scope Support requirements clarity prior to development by using experience artifacts to progressively elaborate functional, non‑functional, and UX requirements Act as a connector between UX vision and platform realities, helping balance experience intent with technical constraints, data availability, governance, and RBAC considerations Collaborate with Data, Analytics, and Platform teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards and future‑state architecture Support platform evolution and innovation initiatives, including pilots, user feedback cycles, and iterative experience improvements Help drive cross‑functional alignment (business, engineering, architecture, governance, vendors) by clarifying tradeoffs, dependencies, and experience impacts Provide requirements support, supporting documentation, and stakeholder readouts for initiatives of varying size and complexity Support Data Governance initiatives by ensuring experience and design decisions respect access control, compliance, and audit requirements while maintaining usability Serve as a trusted contributor for complex, non‑routine questions related to product experience, UI decisions, and solution design feasibility Mentor and support less‑senior team members in product thinking, experience translation, and stakeholder collaboration, where appropriate At Marriott International, we are dedicated to being an equal opportunity employer, welcoming all and providing access to opportunity.
