UI/UX Designer (Hybrid + Irvine)

- $65 /hr Posted January 08, 2026 Our client is seeking a UI/UX Designer (Contractor) to design and deliver a consumer-facing portal that empowers end users with an intuitive self-service experience.
This is a 3-month contract ideal for a designer with proven experience in B2C portals (financial services), who can quickly translate requirements into functional wireframes and a scalable information architecture (IA) while handing off developer-ready assets on time. This will be 40 hours/week, hybrid schedule with in office days Tues/Thurs in Irvine, CA. There is a chance it could extend or convert to FTE. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-fidelity wireframes and an information architecture (IA) that defines navigation, menus, flows, and component hierarchy
- Design the end-to-end borrower journey, including guided onboarding, log in/log out, document collection and upload, educational content hubs and resources, Real-time loan status tracking, support channels, borrower communications and more.
- Conduct usability testing and validation
- Provide developer-ready design specs, assets, and accessibility notes (WCAG/ADA)
- Build a design system / style guide for consistency during and after the contract Qualifications
- 4+ years of UI/UX design experience, ideally with B2C portals and financial services (financial services / mortgage experience is a huge plus!)
- Portfolio demonstrating wireframes, IA, and high-fidelity designs for consumer-facing applications
- Strong proficiency in Figma, Adobe, or similar tools
- Experience turning complex workflows into intuitive flows
- Familiarity with responsive design, accessibility standards, and secure UX patterns
- Strong ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and collaborate effectively with product and engineering teams Success in This Role Looks Like
- Delivered a clear IA and high-fidelity functional designs for the borrower portal
- Produced validated prototypes that align with borrower needs
- Created a lightweight design system for scalable implementation
- Handed off developer-ready assets that enable engineering teams to begin build-out immediately In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including financial information.
This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
