As a Manager-level UX/UI Designer within Marketing Technology & Enablement, you will play a critical role in shaping and scaling Schwab's digital design system to drive consistent, intuitive, and high-quality client experiences across web, email, and mobile channels. In this role, you will lead the evolution and governance of design patterns, components, and foundational elements that enable teams to deliver accessible, scalable, and cohesive experiences efficiently. You will strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to advance a modern, AI-ready design system—structuring design assets, documentation, and guidelines in ways that support automation, personalization, and rapid experimentation. By leveraging user research, data insights, and emerging technologies, you will continuously refine the system to meet evolving business and user needs. Collaboration is central to success in this role. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams including UX research, engineering, brand, and marketing to ensure alignment between design, development, and business outcomes. You will also serve as a trusted consultant to internal stakeholders and external partners, helping drive adoption of the design system through clear guidance, training, and enablement resources. Your work will directly impact how teams design and deliver experiences across the organization—enabling faster execution, improving quality and accessibility, and establishing a shared design language that supports long-term innovation and scalability. What you have Required Qualifications 5-7+ years relevant experience as a user experience designer, user interaction designer, or related role Expertise working on a Digital Design System, atomic-based design, and with front-end technologies (Tailwind, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, AI-assisted design and prototyping tools (e.g., v0 and similar emerging tools)) Proficiency in Figma, including the ability to create components and document your work in Figma Experience with Jira and working with a product delivery team in agile processes to accomplish work within deadlines In-depth knowledge of design principles, including layout, type, color, and composition, as well as current WCAG accessibility standards General skills & competencies: Able to navigate ambiguity and drive a cross-functional team through change management Detail-oriented with a clear and polished communication and presentation style to clearly articulate design ideas and rationale verbally and in writing to developers, other designers, marketers, and decision makers Be a self-starter who can lead yourself and a team on discovery work on new design patterns and experiences in multiple channels, including web, email, and mobile app experiences Accustomed to using data and UX research to inform and iterate on design decisions Comfortable working on a distributed team (i.e., DDS team members sit within other teams across Schwab) that operates collaboratively as one team on unified objectives within the same workflow Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and authoring interfaces Ability to intake feedback and quickly pivot when needed This role is ideal for a collaborative, forward-thinking design leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, embraces continuous learning, and is passionate about enabling teams to deliver exceptional digital experiences through a unified design system.
