Job Description

Principal designers are extremely knowledgeable across design disciplines, and they empower others to create meaningful, human-centered experiences. They lead design efforts for complex initiatives, and they help teams across the entire corporation gain a shared understanding of design strategies, customers, and requirements. Job Requirements Meaningful Experiences Led teams to design meaningful, human-centered experiences for complex products and services Demonstrated advanced design deliverables, approaches, and industry expertise in a professional portfolio Conceptualized and evaluated designs based on user research findings, design critiques, and design industry expertise Mentored teams to succeed on projects with complex challenges (e.g. remote teams, cultural barriers, technology constraints, complex regulations) Aligned business and project teams with design specifications and strategies Expectations and Mindset Commitment to keep up to date on design industry trends, improve skills, and share design expertise with others Strong leadership and collaboration skills that support cross-disciplinary teams Desire to establish long-term strategies and vision for Design
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
==> Design and Delivery Advocate and advance design standards for styles, patterns, and practices across design teams Leverage design expertise to ensure team design activities are reviewed and executed at a high-level Clearly communicate, describe, and defend complex design strategies in senior leadership reviews Strategy and Planning Develop strategies that guide experience design work for complex projects and initiatives Assist others with understanding customer needs and eliciting ideas to inform preliminary designs Impact business decisions by communicating design strategies and demonstrating design value Partner with internal teams and third-parties to establish long-term Design strategies People and Culture Develop partnerships with internal teams and customers to meet shared goals and objectives Build respect and credibility to foster a company-wide culture of embracing design Mentor others to excel in all aspects of the design lifecycle and champion the customer perspective
