Design Research Intern Lifetime Products, located in Clearfield, Utah, designs and manufactures consumer products for major retailers around the world, including Sporting Goods, Lawn & Garden, Water Sports, Play Sets, and Tables & Chairs. www.lifetime.com For Summer of 2026 we are seeking a talented and passionate Design Research Intern to assist our research team. As an integral part of our design process, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth user research to inform and inspire our product development. If you have a keen eye for hard goods design, a curiosity for user behavior, and a knack for translating insights into physical, innovative, solutions we have an amazing opportunity for you. This position is a paid internship that is onsite in Clearfield, Utah. Drug screen and background checks will be completed prior to hire. SKILLS Conduct thorough research on market trends, user behaviors, and emerging technologies in the consumer goods sector. Employ a user centric approach, actively engaging with customers through interviews, surveys, and usability testing to gather valuable insights. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into the design process, ensuring products meet users needs and expectations. Translate research findings into actionable design recommendations, contributing to the development of innovative and user-friendly products. Education and Experience Requirements Currently enrolled in a major with a Design User Research emphasis. Proven experience in Design Research, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful projects in the consumer goods space. Excellent communication skills and ability to present research findings in a clear and compelling manner. Proficiency in using various research methods, with focus in meeting with customers to understand their needs. Experience using qualitative research methods including observation, interviewing, and contextual inquiry. Familiarity with traditional design tools and software.
