Part-time Pay:
$15.15 - $28.00 per hour Application Question(s): •The following questions are a written interview. Please answer the questions as if you were being asked them in person. The quality and detail in the answers will determine if we move forward. Lack of detail and failing to answer all the questions will cause the application to be rejected. • Why do you want to be a Game Master? Due to the many shifts being on-call, you must live within a 10 min drive (in traffic) to our facility (located on University and Price near 101). To be successful, you must have reliable transportation (public transportation and ride share are not considered reliable). Please indicate your planned method of transportation, how long your commute would be, AND what major cross streets you will be traveling from.PLEASE DO NOT CONTINUE IF YOUR COMMUTE TIME IS MORE THAN 15 MINS IN TRAFFIC.
This is the #1 reason applicants are rejected due to not meeting this requirement.DO NOT CONTINUE IF YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED AN ESCAPE ROOM BEFORE
Having played escape rooms is a requirement. Approximately how many escape rooms have you played before? What was your favorite and why? What was your least favorite room and why? Was there anything good or bad your game master did during your game? Please be as descriptive as possible. The job starts at $15.15 an hour, but you are awarded bonuses for selling second games or gift card. Tips from players are also quite common and can range from $2-$50 depending on the size of the group. Game Masters can take control of their paycheck based on their hard work and selling skills. Once training is complete (3-4 weeks), game masters typically make $22-$28 hour(includes tips and bonuses). However due to the unstable hours, this job does not pay enough for someone who needs to be reliant on this income. We are currently in our slow season and hopefully should be starting to pick up for the summer. Therefore hours per week could be less than 10. Please explain why this pay structure and un-stable schedule will work best for you. We are looking for someone who can begin training immediately and will be available full-time during the Summer. Shifts are from 1pm-10:30. All days are on-call shifts. Please indicate if you are available to work this assigned schedule and also indicate any specific dates from now-August you will need off due to planned events or commitments. All upcoming major holidays and their weekends are a requirement (Memorial Day weekend, Father's Day, July 4th, and Labor Day). •Please note, this on-call schedule does not work well with a 2nd job. A majority of this job is performed in a monitor room watching and listening to players through the cameras. You will be working in tight quarters. Because of this, we do not hire any employees who smoke cigarettes, marijuana, or anything else that smells due to the sensitivity of those smells by current staff. Please confirm you do not smoke. This is not a requirement and just bonus points. Do you have any of the bonus skills listed on the job posting. If yes, please describe in detail what those skills are and how they were pertain to an Escape Room business.Work Location:
