= Onsite Scope of Work/Job Characteristics The Web Designer will serve as the principal line of communication for the project team. The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows: " Design, build, and maintain multiple websites using HTML, CSS, content creation tools, content management systems, and digital media; " Write, design, and edit web page content and coordinate work with team members; " Create graphics using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator); " Confer with Department Management to prioritize projects, resolve conflicts, develop content criteria, and recommend solutions; " Identify web service issues uncovered by testing or customer feedback and correct or refer problems to the appropriate personnel for correction; " Evaluate code to ensure that it is valid, properly structured, meets industry standards, and is compatible with browsers, devices, and operating systems; and " Maintain an understanding of current web design technologies and programming practices through continuing education, reading, or participation in workshops, training, or groups. Required Qualifications A bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related fields. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis when applicable. The Department requires the following experience, skills, and knowledge for this position: " A minimum of five (5) years of experience developing and designing web pages using HTML and CSS; " A minimum of two (2) years of general Graphic Design experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator); and " Experience testing websites with multiple browsers and device specifications.
NOTE:
In addition to the above list, the selected Candidate must successfully complete a Level II Background Check. 4.2. Preferred Qualifications The Department prefers the Candidate to have the following experience, skills, and/or knowledge for this position: " Experience working in Dreamweaver, InDesign, and/or Visual Studio Code; " Experience designing websites and Portable Document Format (PDF) files to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Level AA requirements; " Experience editing PDF files using Adobe Acrobat; " Experience with Adobe InDesign; " Awareness of the benefits of using a Content Management System; " Awareness of Web Application development using Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP); and " Awareness of IT standards in a criminal justice environment.
