About Triangle Day School Triangle Day School is a warm, welcoming, and vibrant TK-8 independent school seeking a Communications Director to begin summer 2026. Position Overview We are seeking a creative, strategic, and highly organized Communications Director to join our team. In this role, you will be the primary storyteller and brand guardian for TDS. You will shape how our community and the broader public experience our school—capturing everything from daily classroom breakthroughs to major school milestones. This is a dynamic, multi-faceted position that blends big-picture strategic planning with hands-on content creation, digital marketing, website management, and community engagement. Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Communication & Branding Plan & Execute:
Collaborate closely with the Head of School to develop, maintain, and execute a comprehensive, strategic communications plan that aligns our messaging across parent communications and public outreach.
Emergency Notification Management:
Oversee and manage the school's emergency notification systems, ensuring swift, clear, and accurate communication during critical moments.
Surveys & Insights:
Create, disseminate, and manage official school-wide surveys to gather community feedback and inform school leadership decisions.
Digital Media & Marketing Coordination Media Partnerships:
Serve as the central point-of-contact and coordinator for external media vendors (including SEO specialists, digital ad managers, and freelance photographers), working in tandem with the Enrollment Director to drive admissions and visibility.
Digital & Print Outreach:
Coordinate, write, and maintain external communications, including web content, vibrant social media campaigns, and targeted email marketing.
Design, Publications & Production Community Publications:
Oversee the visual storytelling of the school by designing and producing newsletters, formal email announcements, planned publications, photography, and videos.
Document Design:
Design and layout formal school policy documents, parent/student handbooks, and official school forms, ensuring a clean, professional, and consistent visual brand.
Web & Systems Management Web Design:
Serve as TDS's internal Web Manager, partnering with our external Web Developer to ensure the school website remains secure, reliable, updated, and user-friendly.
School Calendars:
Create and maintain shared school-wide calendars to keep families, faculty, and staff aligned and informed.
Event Publicity:
Work directly with campus event captains to publicize student activities, community events, and special school programs. Qualifications & Experience While we care deeply about finding the right cultural fit for our community, the ideal candidate will typically bring:
Experience:
3+ years of experience in communications, public relations, digital marketing, or graphic design (experience in an independent school or educational setting is a major plus).
Technical Savvy:
Comfort navigating web content management systems (CMS), email marketing platforms, and basic student information systems or calendar tools.
Design Skills:
Proficiency with design tools (like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva) to handle document layout, publication design, and basic video editing.
Communication Mastery:
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to capture the warm, authentic voice of Triangle Day School.
Interpersonal Strengths:
A collaborative spirit, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with grace and professionalism. Additional Details Salary in accordance with certification and experience School contract hours run Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:00
