Advanced Web Design Instructor Villa Maria College - 3.8 Buffalo, NY Job Details Part-time | Contract $2,800 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Web design UX prototyping Adobe XD Prototype creation Visual communication design macOS Prototypes Technical Proficiency Teaching Information architecture Full Job Description Villa Maria College is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach a junior-level advanced web design course. Candidates for this position should have experience with UX/UI design and prototyping with essential knowledge of industry standard software applications including Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and similar tools, enabling students to familiarize themselves with tools commonly used in the design industry. Additionally, candidates should teach the fundamentals principles of UX/UI design, along with the development of site architectures, personas, journey mapping, wireframing and prototyping. Adjunct faculty are expected to work collaboratively with the department chair and faculty to develop course content consistent with official course syllabi, to deliver course instruction to students. The faculty member will handle all aspects of the Advanced Web Design course including organizing lectures, demonstrations, generating and distributing assignments, assisting students with technical and creative questions related to assignments, grading, and quarter-term reports.
- Master's degree (MFA or MA) in graphic design or closely related field preferred.
- College-level teaching experience in web design preferred.
- Strong portfolio in web design or related field.
- In-depth knowledge of the fundamental and advanced principles and theories of visual communication and graphic design.
- Experience in Macintosh operating system and Adobe Creative Cloud Software
- Proficiency in UX/UI design, wireframing and prototyping using Adobe XD, Figma, and FigJam. Knowledge of Framer, Webflow, and Sketch desirable.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, leadership qualities with passion for teaching.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with students.
