Description :
Coordinates communications activities in support of a university program, including, but not limited to, publications, newsletters, annual reports, web site, and informational and solicitation materials. 1. Coordinates various communications projects, to include compiling, editing, and layout of materials. 2. Works with other departments to research, obtain material and organize the content of written communications. 3. Provides content for regular updates of the program web site. 4. May be responsible for producing regularly recurring communications such as annual reports, monthly publications or newsletters. 5. Provides writing and editing services for other communication projects as assigned. 6. Represents the program at conferences and community events. 7. Performs other job-related duties as required.

Communications Coordinator — Web & Graphic Design Position Responsibilities The Communications Coordinator for Graphic Design supports the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership's communications and marketing efforts through the creation of visually engaging and brand-aligned print and digital materials. This role is also responsible for maintaining and updating the College website content to ensure a consistent and user-focused digital experience across platforms. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and creative designer who values visual storytelling, organization and collaboration in a fast-paced environment. Graphic Design & Visual Communication Designs original print and digital materials that support College communications, marketing and promotional initiatives. Creates visual content for brochures, flyers, presentations, signage, social media, websites, reports, advertisements and event materials. Ensures all materials align with University and College brand standards, visual identity guidelines and accessibility considerations. Prepares files for print, digital publication and vendor production as needed. Maintains design templates and visual consistency across communications platforms. Website Management & Digital Content Updates and maintains College websites using the University's content management system. Reviews website content regularly to ensure accuracy, usability, accessibility and visual consistency. Creates and optimizes web graphics, page layouts and digital assets for online platforms. Collaborates with communications team members and campus partners to organize and publish website updates in a timely manner. Assists with improving the overall user experience and organization of College web content. Creative Collaboration & Content Support Collaborates with communications team members, faculty and staff to develop visual concepts and creative solutions for projects and campaigns. Supports marketing and communications initiatives through audience-focused visual storytelling. Assists with selecting, editing and incorporating photography and graphics into communications materials. Coordinates with vendors and campus partners for design production and project support as needed. Administrative & Professional Responsibilities Manages multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Maintains organized design files, templates and digital assets. Communicates clearly and professionally with faculty, staff, vendors and partners. Brings forward creative ideas that support College priorities and audience engagement. Represents the College professionally in interactions with campus and community partners. Additional Qualifications Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Strong understanding of layout, typography, branding and visual communication principles. Experience designing for both print and digital platforms. Familiarity with website content management systems and web content updates required. Experience with Canva and digital content creation platforms preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality design standards. Experience will be considered in lieu of education. Education will be considered in lieu of experience.

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience. All positions at the University of Houston-System are security sensitive and will require a criminal history check.
